Tried to find an existing thread before posting this.

Do we actually know anything about the return timeframe for these guys? I will cite the rumors I’ve seen floating around, but none of them come from a legitimate source.

Rickey Gibson - most out there believe he will not play this season

Jermod McCoy - some are saying he’s unlikely to play this year, while others have said we are tying to get him back for MissSt

David Sanders - some are saying he will get some snaps against UAB and slowly ramp up his workload

Jaxson Moi - people are saying he’s day-to-day and could possibly play some against UAB

Daevin Hobbs - people are saying he’s day-to-day and could possibly play some against UAB

Radarius Jackson - AP says he will miss about a month with a collarbone

Mike Matthews - banged up and missed a series against UGA. Looks like he will be fine

This is a gut feeling, but i dont expect Jermod McCoy to be back. It sucks from a need stand point. But he will be taken in the first round so that will look GREAT on Willie Martinez and recruiting aspect.

This. Per my posts last Sunday, I doubt McCoy returns. There is enough on film to be a 1st or 2nd round pick. His handlers, etc are urging side of caution - him not playing. They are in communication w NFL scouts as some players may improve draft status throughout season McCoy could hurt his if he returns yet doesn’t play well.

It will be interesting but I give it 45-55 him returning. I was 65-35 before talking to staff member Saturday. I think he’s cleared now but Heup will say otherwise to protect him.

What I don’t like is he is still being paid Nil $$, plus a scholly.

Gibson - Has had surgery for torn pec and is out for the year.
McCoy - The hope is Alabama but he does have some of his adviors pushing to just prepare for draft and not play. decision still TBD
Sanders - Not cleared by medical. Return unknown. he is week to week as when the nerve is healed he still needs to do some strength building.
Moi-return unknown. His issue has been kept real quite. Not expected back this week possibly MSU. Very difficult to get info on him
Hobbs-Mississippi State is best guess. Don't think they risk a setback with him this week.
Jackson-Out at least a month with shoulder problem. Not clear how serious yet.
Matthews-he is fine.

Not playing could also damage his draft stock as teams would want to make sure he's 100% back. To me he should be cautious and only play when he's 100%. But not playing at all is also potentially damaging as he could fall from surefire 1st round pick to a 2nd or 3rd round pick if he doesn't play at all this season.

There is risk if he plays or if he doesn't play on how NFL views him. Both are a risk. He plays and is 100%, then all is well. He plays and is not 100% (frequently that is the case coming off knee repair, think Jamal Lewis 1999) that could drop him further than not playing.

All part of the decision... JMO

This is why I don't mind if he doesn't play until November. The key is to get healthy and to potentially have him for a playoff run.

Nobody needs to play if they aren't fully healthy. Whoever it is. We're just fine.

no such thing after 3 games. Eevryone that plays in those games and continues to play out the season, is not fully healthy until the off season. Eery game brings on bumps, bruises, aches and pains. They can't get enough ice baths to feel 100%

And he could be healthy, not return, and drop a bit in draft. That’s why his “people” are evaluating the different scenarios.

DB situation could definitely be the difference between 10-2 and 8-4. We are OK against average competition, but a liability vs top shelf competition QBs.

We have to pressure the QBs on the next three SEC games. If we don’t these games could be a problem. Might just be shootouts like Saturday
