That was super weird for me. Watched the game from home, but had volume muted and listening to the radio instead.

So it made zero sense to me why the TV crew kept going back to this one random fan in the stands, over and over. Thought maybe he was some player's father or such.

Good to finally know why. Still not a fan of staring at another dude's face over and over between plays, but at least I know why.

Go Vols!

I'll be honest, I didn't realize the camera crew for ABC/ESPN used our Voltron footage on their broadcast. Interesting.

Depending on who is producing and directing each game (basketball is especially bad) there's probably 20-30+ production minutes of fans in the stands, sideline shots, parents shots, etc and simply random "fill shots" in a game. It probably sounds a bit entitled but it really interferes with the continuity of following the game for me. I, too, usually have the broadcast muted so I don't often know why or who these unrelated shots are on my screen. In basketball, its not unusual to miss actual playing time on the floor with those silly camera pans. Maybe its just me IDK🤷‍♂️

If watching on TV I would prefer to have the full view of the field like the guys that do film assessments on youtube.

I hate how the TV production zooms in on nothing but line of scrimmage and QB on a pass play. Missing so much of what's happening down field.

Or vice versa. Could be that the stadium pays a fee to use ABC/ESPN camera footage on the jumbotron (Voltron). Whoever is paying for all those camera crews, they're the ones deciding what gets shot. But the other party using the film probably has its own production room and can pick from among the dozen or so cameras at any given time.

I meant I didn't think what we show inside the stadium is broadcast on the network. I figured it was the network that kept going back to the guy, not our camera guys. I guess it could have been both. I wasn't at the game, so I don't know what was on the jumbotron.

I saw this guy. I wanted to see him after we scored the game winning TD (didn't happen). Just looking at his face I could see that the guy has not lost that feeling of joy like a kid on Christmas eve. Good on him for that. As far a missing work...I would have taken the whole week off to attend. Very forgivable. Hopefully next time we finish the deal. The guy is a VFL.
