Just saw this pop up in my news sites, so if it's a repost or old news, apologies. I just wanted to share it because it really heartens me to see former players who had real connections to the school and their time here. Especially in this era of transfers and people who come and go, it's nice to know that Grant's time on Rocky Top really meant something to him.




Also, I just want to add that I'm sure he's not the only one who feels that kind of bond, or that money alone is what proves one's allegiance. Just, in this case, the amount is big enough to make me think "wow, good on ya, Grant."

Williams is gifting $1 million to the athletics department, with $750,000 going to the Men's Basketball Excellence Fund and $250,000 to the My All Unrestricted Fund for Softball. The other $500,000 of the gift will create the Grant Williams Scholarship Endowment within the Haslam College of Business.
