Apology to semperfidawg

Hello Vol fans I haven’t posted on here in years. , but recently with recent events that have occurred I felt the need to speak out! I like everyone else on here was extremely disappointed in the outcome of the Georgia game ! My lovely wife of 15 years is a Georgia Grad and a true Georgia Peach! But I have had to buy her dinner now for 9 years and I am about sick of eating crow every year! Now I will get to the reason why I felt the need to post? I recently saw a post by a Georgia fan Semperfidawg and he was completely positive and complementary in his comments! Unfortunately we had some on here attack him and act very rude ! I was born in Bristol Tenn in 1963 and was raised in middle Tennessee until I joined the USAF in 1983. I just retired from the Dept of Veterans Affairs in Atlanta after 40 years of federal service! During my time in and out of uniform I met and befriended many devil dogs (aka) marines and know full well what semper fi means! During the Gulf War my A-10 warthog saved many of a marines whom were under fire and l have the upmost respect for all you jar heads!! So as a self professed hillbilly who learned manners from my momma in East Tennessee I apologize for all of us that should know better than to act like that! It’s just a game people played by 18,19 year olds that make mistakes like we all did! God bless semper fideliis to you all!!

Nice post sir! I may or may not have saved some devil dogs bacon in my 28 years as well! Jarheads are cool! Semper Fi!

This is some wimpy Air Force civilian-in-uniform sucking up to the Army's little brother, the Marine Corpse. And/or the Bulldawgs. Either way, it is disgusting.

Never apologize, never let up, no ragrets!

If the Marine Corps is the Army’s little brother then we must be the one who kicked their big brother’s ass all of the time. No wonder you Army dogs are so salty.

I think you misunderstood the jest in his comments. He’s usually a mild and positive poster. Branches of the service been dogging each other longer than the SEC has been around.

Many of us came down on the classless post(s) and Semper seemed cool about it.

Nonetheless, I’m like you…show some class. I hate that there are so many classless people representing Vol Nation. When I was growing up, we took pride in showing class on behalf of our university. Sadly, some don’t adhere to that notion.

Tribalism, sadly, seems to be a part of human nature that we just can’t seem to shake.

I think he was just ribbing you. I actually like the Army and Air Force, your DFACs were the best in Iraq. Always loaded up on RipIts when we got the chance to hit an Army/Air Force chow hall.

Roger that brother! Frankly I always respected navy pilots! I always wanted to fly the F-14 Tomcat, but regular enlisted sailers are some of the most unprofessional service people I’ve ever seen ! It’s because the navy allows you to get into trouble and go to captains mass and stay in the navy? In the USAF any charge of conduct unbecoming usually gets you at minimal an Article15 and a general discharge! Officers are held to an even higher standard ! I had one Lt friend of mine be discharged simply because he dated an enlisted woman! Most Army guys are straight away! Marines as well! But yes navy enlisted wouldn’t last one week in the USAF without being articled 15! I have a good friend that is a retired major general from USMC good man! Good night to a and yes go vols!

Heh, I honestly thought the "no ragrets" was a big enough *wink* to make the blue font unnecessary. Yes, I was teasing both the OP (Air Force) and the target of his comments (Marine Corps).

p.s. Served with a lot of Redhorse and Seabees over the years as an Army Engineer. We may already have had that beer together, depending on your age.

Hey now...no reason to be insulting. We just do things smarter, neater and way cooler. Everyone just wishes they'd been smarter when they signed up. I understand the frustration but let's not be hostile.

I didn't know you had to sign up to join the Air Force. I thought it was just an interview and "you start Monday." You know, kinda like at Starbucks or the grocery store. :)
