I said last week after the secondary was burned time and time again that Kitna would probably get 300+, at least 250+! Kitna throwing for 364 yards is totally unacceptable ( even with a lot of the second and third team guys seeing lots of action in the second half )!!! How do all of you feel now after talking about how good Banks and Martinez are against the pass??? Top Tier SEC QBs are going to light up this secondary all year long!!! We better continue to put up 40+ to be in the game vs good SEC teams!!!!

No one is saying to leave in the starters! UT doesn't have an ELITE D! It never has under Banks! The point is many on this board act like he is a great DC when he continually gets outcoached and gives up tons of points to above average QBs with very good passing games!

Last year Tennessee had a top 5 defense in the country. In the SEC I’d consider that elite. Also you’re aware that 5 defensive starters were out today right? I’ll list em to make it easy:

Moi, West, McCoy, Gibson, Hobbs

I mean in the Georgia game we didn’t have good defense but the defense came up with a big play at the end of the game which could have ended it. We’re not good on defense but we’re good enough to compete with the big boys and if we get people healthy this could be a very good defense.

I don't recall anyone ever saying that Martinez was good against the pass. I only recall hearing how bad he was and if the DBs actually looked back for the ball, it was because Martinez had not yet broken him of the technique learned from good coaching in high school (sarcasm).

Very basic today….los of players played. When you do this blown assignments are going to happen. I wouldn’t read to much into today.

Willie has had what, seven years? He should have this secondary in shape by now. Stop the excuses. Josh needs to find someone better. Preferably somebody that can scheme in the second half of games. We have the talent for sure.
