Reminder USF (unranked) has 2 top 25 wins and 1 loss to Miami.
Yet, Penn St and Texas are top 10 because they lost to really good teams. They also combine for 0 wins against Power 4 opponents.
Not saying either would take a L to USF just saying polls are opinions and not based off of on the field performance.

Under James Franklin, Penn State's record against ranked opponents is 15-28, with their record against AP top-10 teams being 4-21. Despite having a .455 winning percentage against all ranked teams, Franklin's record against top-10 opponents, which stands at a .160 winning percentage

I don’t get why people are b!thing and moaning over us standing pat at 15. We struggled against an inferior opponent. Win and all takes care of itself.

We are going to be favored in every game except Bama.

We will be 5-1 going against a 1 loss Bama most likely. Whoever wins that game is in the driver seat to getting to Atlanta. I think Ole Miss is real deal this season but don’t expect them to go 12-0/11-1 until I see it.

11-1 means we win at Bama and are in Atlanta
10-2 means we will likely be at large spot

Quit crying about the polls

I mean, I haven't shed any tears about them and doubt many others have.
Is it okay if people discuss the rankings on a discussion board?

Ohio State is probably going to win out unless Michigan can upset them again -They do have Penn State and Illinois as well. Penn State (i.e. Franklin) rarely wins against top 10 teams.
Miami plays FSU and after that they literally have a cake walk schedule.
Oregon has Indiana left but they appear to have beaten the only team that could challenge them.

So more than likely the top three are going to remain OSU, Miami and Oregon unless upsets happen.

Do I believe they are the best teams - no - but the SEC will continue to beat up on each other. The SEC is still undoubtedly the best conference top to bottom - but because of that it is unlikely that an SEC team will land higher than 4 - the top three just don't play the same caliber of teams this year. TheB1G with their schedules keeps protecting certain teams.

Ole Miss has Georgia, Oklahoma and Miss State. Yes they could trip up over South Carolina or Florida.

A&M has LSU, Texas and Missouri all on the road. They are where they are because they beat Notre Dame.

Ole Miss has beaten LSU at home - that is it. They have games at Georgia and at Oklahoma. If they win both of those they deserve the # 4 ranking - but right now they are there because they beat LSU who was ranked so high because they beat Clemson who is now 1-3.

Oklahoma without their QB isn’t a tough game as people talk about them. I wouldn’t be shocked if they go 1-3 before our game.

True - but my point is that teams are ranked where they are because of how these polls started out. And until a team loses to someone, they get to take advantage of that.

Ole Miss has not been tested. Folks think they were tested with LSU, but the one big win that LSU has doesn't look so good right now and Clemson's demise has nothing to do with a key player getting hurt - they just are not that good this year - yet LSU benefited from playing them early when folks thought they were good.

These polls are not the ones that will matter and hopefully when the poll that matters comes out, those folks will ignore these two and look at the entire season.

And there is absolutely no reason for Notre Dame to be ranked. NONE.

And I do agree the Vols are in control of their own destiny. The undefeated teams in the SEC each play other undefeated teams (or 1 loss teams). Missouri and Ole Miss start out like this every year because of their schedule.

Agree there. I wish they’d do away with the polls and just go with the CFP rankings that start mid season.

The Big 10 is pathetic. Also, Iowa State does not deserve to be top 15... they barely squeaked by Arkansas State

Penn State at #6:and Texas at #7 is a joke. Both teams lost to their only good opponent and otherwise have looked pedestrian. Neither has an actual good win or even a P4 win.

Ole Miss struggled at Kentucky. This league is tough on the road but Mississippi State is far better than Kentucky. What I'm saying is Tennessee is better than Ole Piss

I think Miami is overrated. They barely beat the worst Florida team in decades and, scored a late TD to run up the score. Georgia probably should be the highest rated one loss team. They get Bama’s best game each year.
