Question for Miss State road warriors

Very loud, but they did stop ringing them when the center was over the ball. I purchased my tickets through Ticketmaster, but for some reason I had to create a Mississippi State account to download my tickets instead of getting them directly from Ticketmaster. As a result, I have been receiving emails from Mississippi State for the last few weeks. Some of those emails state to be sure to ring responsibly so they don’t lose the privilege of being able to use the cowbells. It appears they take this seriously. No biscuits and gravy.

I was in the upper deck so not bad. Probably a lot worse in the lower bowl. The State fans around us followed the “ring responsibly” rules and stopped ringing when the center leaned down for the ball.

Gotta say I thought the tailgating scene around the stadium was great. Saw a lot of Vol fans invited into tailgates for free food and drink. Good times.

As for the second question, you know the rules…what happens in Starkvegas stays in Starkvegas.

My experience is Mississippi State fans are some of the nicest in SEC. We have a lot of them in Memphis because I believe they waive out of state tuition. Also a lot closer than Knoxville

In the section of tickets alloted to UT, the bells were not as bad as I expected but could possibly be worse if in the middle of MSU fans. The PA speaker a was far louder than the bells. Post-game they follow the UGA procedure and get the final game score off all the scoreboards immediately. They also started blasting music at the conclusion of the game so the Tennessee band was totally drowned out during their post-game songs. Thought that was sort of poor sportsmanship.

There were 3 MSU fans in the middle of the Tennessee section and they continually rang their bell until a Tennessee fan complained to security. After an animated 10 minute discussion with security, they pretty much stopped all bell ringing for the rest of the game.

Traffic seemed pretty bad after the game (we walked to the stadium from our hotel) so didn't get to the wrestling.

We wore ear plugs the entire time. It was a fun novelty being in that environment, but I wouldn’t want to go to every home game. Tough on the older fans. It’s a little annoying having everything sound so muffled for 4 hours through ear plugs.

My crew brought TN stickered cow bells. We were being respectful, only clanging when vols did something good. State fans got a kick out of it. My two kids loved it. Very calm, chill environment.

Someone described State as the SEC of years ago and that’s true. No pomp. No glitz. Very nice A&M type folks.

I almost (almost!) felt bad state lost. They pulled out all the stops and just weren’t good enough to beat a very sloppy but very talented TN team. It’s a tribute to us — we were really good and really bad and still found a way to win.
