Not going to link the asinine articles. However they have Joey as the #17 qb in the country right now mostly due to his “recent interceptions”. Also have I believe 7 SEC teams as more likely to make the playoffs than us. I don’t think they watch the games or familiarize themselves with the reality of dynamic situations before writing articles anymore. Just bad.

It would help everyone here to just ignore espn and anything they have to say or print

JA is a GREAT story. An inspirational story. And he has been an absolute blessing to UT. His talent may not be a good as Nico, but his intangibles are much improved.

With that said, I can see why someone not watching carefully could put him at 17. His has a interception narrative which he or bad luck has not changed so far this year. His arm strength is not elite. He isn't going to win games with his legs like some others. And he has a habit of missing high which is dangerous. There is also the knock against UT offensive standouts that they are doing so well because of Heupel's system.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade him for anybody else. But I am not going to get offended by the opinions of others when I can see where they are coming from.

We just need to keep taking care of business. To be fair sometimes it’s not the best teams that make it to the playoffs it’s the good teams with the best schedules. Idk if the other teams they have ranked as having a better playoff chance are playing at Tuscaloosa or have OU on their schedule.

Bama, Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas AM all have “better” chances by virtue of their ranking, schedules, wins, etc. Everything changes if Tennessee wins in Tuscaloosa.

So he has 5 total INT?

However, three have been off tipped balls that the receivers failed to catch that they should have and another was because his receiver fell down. I've only seen what I thought was two ill advised throws. Both were caught by the receivers. One was the deep ball to Matthews against ETSU and the other was that highlight reel catch Brazzel made back shoulder against Miss State. I still don't know how they completed that one.

He’s been good very serviceable in this offense more so than Nico was. He seems to have the clutch moxie in him very cool and didn’t get rattled against Miss St on that last drive to tie it and go to overtime. He’s def experienced has played alot of football. We should be 5-0 right now but it’s not because of him that we aren’t.

Keep winning (especially against Bama) and then he becomes the new orange flavor and media darling

There was a point in time, I feel like it was somewhere around like 2010, give or take a few years either way, where ESPN heavily shifted from being the ultimate authority/experts on sports to “Man these people actually know very very little”

It’s worse now than it ever has been. Aside from a few hot ticket item players like Arch or Carson Beck, they just really don’t know much else. They would heavily benefit from the 247/On3 method where a few staffers were assigned to individual teams so they actually knew what they were talking about.

Just wait it out until the end of the season. Win out their will be no question in our eyes but ESPN would find something to support there narrative.
We won a NC in 98 and ESPN was still, Meh. What has changed in 27 years not a lot as far as ESPN is concerned. Why, because the VOL fanbase calls them out.

JA came here with something that most recruits don't have. Experience. You can't coach it, it has to happen naturally. You can't buy it either. His experience is well worth the price we paid.
