-Tennessee will cover the 13.5 and then some.

-We haven't been playing very well and we are in a transition. UT is a very good football team and will cover comfortably.

-If our normal defense shows up, Tennessee will hang 70 on us.

-I honestly don't see another win on the schedule this year.

-I would assume Vols can name the score, etc…But I’m old enough to remember the 1992 game under somewhat similar circumstances.

-For anyone that doesn't think we can't win this weekend, remember what UCLA did to Penn State. Anything is possible.

-On the road at UT is a tough place for a discombobulated team to start over. I predict a UGA 2021 type scenario.

-Yeah, I would like to think this could be a Joe Kines 1992 at Knoxville type surprise upset, but I just can't realistically see that. If we just play with a little passion and intelligence on both sides of the ball and make a few less stupid mistakes, I'll take that and move onto the next week.

-We are more likely to beat Tennessee than we were a week ago. TN coaching staff will have no idea what we're going to run. What if we come out in a 3-4 base with aggressive blitzing and man on the backend? Or we could stick to the base 4-3 but blitz up the middle? TN will be scouting in game. I wish we were playing a more beatable team like MSU or Auburn but if the team plays well and TN makes some mistakes, anything could happen.

-Their field being the same dimension, may our 11's play well enough to cause them to toss more mustard than Birmingham and any frenchie franchise could possibly pay for... Go Hogs Go !!!

-I'm pulling my double reverse jinx bingo card for this one. After controlling the game for 3.5 quarters, but failing to put the hogs away, the TN QB will inexplicably cough up the ball as they are trying to run out the clock. 28-24 Hogs.

-Did you watch the Tennessee vs MSU or Auburn vs Oklahoma Games?
While watching those games I was thinking I'd rather play Tenn than MSU or Auburn.

-It's college football, upsets happens all the time. Arkansas CAN win every game left on its schedule, BUT the defense has to improve DRAMATICALLY, and the offense can not turn the ball over. Even then, it is a stretch seeing this team win more than 3 of it's last 7.

-Alot on the line for Bobby Petrino. He's wanted to be in this position since 2011. Guess we will find out if the defense is fixable and if the offense can play big boy football.

-I think the Tenn/Ar game will be a more competitive game than we had vs ND. Both teams had bye weeks. Tenner only has film on Pittman's team and T-will's defense. Neither will be there. I'm an Arkansas homer and I'll be pumped by game day. I am Not going into the game thinking we are going to lose. Hopefully the players will believe they can win also. I bet Sam will be pulling for the Hogs too.

-Expect this one to be a rock fight. Tennessee isn't some SEC spectacular that some are making them out to be. They almost lost to Miss. State for gods sake. I feel like we get a couple of advantages and we flush that trash dump stadium. GO HOGS!!

He’s not wrong about us cutting it close with MSU. Texas AM blasted them. It’s actually embarrassing how we let them score so much.
Yeah well they had super short fields to score all game thanks to dropped passes. They had one TD drive that started inside their own territory. The other TD drives were 17 yards, 26 yards and 20 yards.

Be sure to eat your bacon this week, folks!

Something else to keep in mind in regards to the A&M game.... the score was 14 to 3 in the 4th quarter. After State lost Bothwell, the offense deflated. The D folded after that and A&M scored the knockout punches.

Oh? Tell us more
What if we come out in a 3-4 base with aggressive blitzing and man on the backend?
You're going to Sal Sunseri us with 1wk of prep?
Or we could stick to the base 4-3 but blitz up the middle?
Well there's simply no way to prepare for that. We're cooked
While watching those games I was thinking I'd rather play Tenn than MSU
Wish he had expanded on that one

Folks only look at the final score for the games and never consider what actually happened.

I get that we have nothing on tape that is going to show whatever they are going to do.

The question is whether there are changes that could make with the personnel they have to make a big difference.

I would hope from both a team and fan perspective that we would not be blindsided or overconfident like Penn State was.

And they forget the possibility that Tennessee has had a bye week too - and may mix in a few twists.

Because it doesn’t matter what happened. You can make excuses and dissect every game. The end result is the end result. I almost became a rocket scientist. No one cares. They only care that I am now homeless in a van down by the river.

Yeah, but is your Van a Ford Transit or a Mercedes Sprinter. (I hope you were just illustrating a point.)

I would think any changes on defense for them would mostly be simplifications, not complete formational changes (3-4 vs 4-3). maybe a couple new look blitzes, but with how bad their defense has been and how little time they have had, I wouldn't expect too much.

the key to the game will be turnovers. I don't see their defense being consistent enough to reliably get turnovers.

and I think in a game like this you don't try to overanalyze what they might do, you instead focus on yourself. what do you do well, vs what needs work.

The #1 reason why this type of game is 100% on the coaches to make sure the players take every game seriously and are mentally prepared to slug it out, and not blame it on travel. Having said that, the poster did a double negative, but we know what they meant.

A&M blasted them LATE....once they get their running game snap count into the 40s (finished @ 51 rushes). It was a close, competitive low-scoring game thru 3 qtrs.

Yeah, this is one of those situations where convoys have been running through your D, and you just put in something easy for everyone in the transition, covers most of the bases with minimal options for adjustments, and just try to look a little competent, and hope for some dog fighting.

In 2024, Ohio state lost to a then 6-5 Michigan at home. Then beat us and an Oregon team they previously lost to like a drum.

In 2022, a Mizzou that would end the season 6-7 took the eventual national champion Georgia bulldogs to the wire 26-22

The transitive property doesn't work in college football. They're not getting the Tennessee volunteers on their first road game in a hostile environment. I think this is going to be more competitive than people think but saying "they almost lost to MSU!" Is something that a non-ball knower would say.

And the end result was a win.
