one big difference from last season is that our offense has not stumbled. last year, once we hit SEC play our offense immediately stalled. in the first 4 SEC games we scored no more than 25 points and we barely cracked 30 points against SEC opponents the whole season.

This year we haven't scored less than 40, even against one of the top teams in the nation. I expect 40 will be no problem playing at home against this Arkansas defense.

They have been able to open up the offense more with Joey this season. Halzle has been more aggressive. We rarely see last year's staple of a pass going to three wideouts on the end of the line of scrimmage. Our three headed beast at RB doesn't hurt either.

The first quarter against UGA was an absolute clinic for offense. It's a shame we lost the game but especially so because it overshadowed what an amazing quarter of football it was.

I think that had less to do with the schedule and more to do with the fact that we didn't have an SEC qb last year.

This year we gotta score points. So we go fast. And it helps we have a qb who looks like he’s played in this offense 3 years already.

We're not playing quite as fast as we were a couple of years ago ether. I think that is designed to take a little pressure off the defense.

The notion that last year Heupel decided "Oh, well our defense is good, no need to sweat the whole 'scoring' aspect of the game. Who needs points?" is really silly.

Our offense was simply not very good last year. Our run game was excellent. Passing game abysmal. It's pretty easy to see that the offense has undergone a significant overhaul. Kelsey Pope has said publicly that after the Ohio State game they knew some things had to change. The offense isn't a switch that Heupel decided to turn off last year and turn back on this year.
