So move it wherever it should go if need be, but what are y'alls thoughts on Golesh? Once we mercifully end the Sling Blade era, he's one of the guys near the top of my list. He's performed miracles (witchcraft?) to turn around an absolutely DEAD USF football program, and I've heard he's a really good recruiter too. He was also UT's OC, so I was wondering if y'all had any thoughts about him? (personalty, coaching style, etc.)

I think the UF vs USF game results should answer for you what you are asking.

Can he deal with the Florida admin and boosters? That may be another story.

I hear he has character problems and will have Florida on death watch with NCAA in a year though so I would stay away.

Golesh would need time at Florida given the state of yall's program. However, I think the good thing for Golesh is that there is likely to be other SEC jobs opening up if James Franklin is tip of iceberg with firings this season.

I would not be shocked if Auburn finally kicks the tires on Freeze. He's 1-11 vs ranked opponents there.... I also would not be shocked if openings cause other SEC coaches to look elsewhere either. I literally could see a scenario where more jobs open up and Brian Kelly looks for any reason to leave Baton Rouge. Same with Drinkwitz.

Nah. You don't want that fella.

James Franklin has recently come available. That, or just hang with what you got. He's going to turn things around any time now.

Go Vols!

I think you should go after Bobby Petrino. He's scored a combined 82 points against the Vols in 2 games.

James Franklin would be a solid choice. Why not him?

Don't get Golesh (sounds like Grolsch). He can't win the big games, like Georgia.

Get Butch Jones. He knows how to win the big games (like Georgia).

Billy needs more time. Plus, you gotta get your AD addressed.

Golesh has all the skills to be a great coach. The only thing unknown is his ability to handle all the mandatory distractions that come with HC of a major program.

I feel like I’m reading Mike Hamiltin’s coaching search notes.

James Franklin would be the perfect ******* to coach at UF. Along with Spurrier, Meyer, etc. and 95% of their fanbase. That would be a nightmare, IMO.

You all need to give Billy another year or three - he hasn't gotten his guys and his system in place yet.
Be patient !!!
