Whoever sent in that play on goal line before halftime. When the Bama DB picked it off and went 99 yards needs to not call plays. You leave your best WRs on the sideline.

Sub-optimization should lead to coaching-substitutions. If this were a "one and done", then obviously not. But UT is not trending in the right direction in key areas - WR/TE drops, LB/DB tackling, etc.

Everyone that has a show on anything has commented and explained why it was a bad call and I’d say 98% of UT fans agree.
That's fine. The criticisms were around the heavy formation when you were 99.9% going to pass; not wrong. I stand by the fact that Kitz was open and a well placed ball doesn't get run back for 6.

I will need you statistics on the 98% of UT fans though. Don't trust your numbers. ;)

Erik Ainge said the any coordinator alive would take a short yardage play on the goalline with a receiver who had two or three yards on his defender, and that the play got the receiver open but Aguilar made a bad pass.

Right 99.9% going to pass. Everyone in the universe including the aliens on 3/I atlas new do the heavy formation was dumb.
You have a 6-4 elite reciever and 2 more good ones spread out and utilize them.

Kitz was open and it was a bad pass and Everyone agrees.

I’d bet everyone would also agree that a pass to the corner pylon on either side to Brazzell or Mathew’s or in the Middle to Staley , doesn’t go the other way for 6.

That's why he's a moron and threw plenty of games away to the other team as well. What a turd.

Chances are definitely a lot lower. Odds are also JA makes a good throw vs. what he did.

I think we agree more than we don’t. I just feel the call wasn’t as bad as it’s made out to be. Routine throw from an accurate QB, favorable matchup vs. personnel on field. Not my favorite call but should have worked.

Also need to factor in what the plan was if it’s incomplete. 13 sec left, burn 6 sec for the play and you either kick or risk one more go thinking you’ll have a sec left. Don’t know but coaches are thinking ahead, would be interested to know the follow-on would have been.
