If Tony gets fired in 3 years

How likely is it he coaches at UT again?

Unlikely. Would need near perfect alignment of Tony being terrible in the MLB, our next hire being terrible, both organizations looking to move on from their current manager at the same time, etc.

If Tony fails, sadly, it means his next stop is at another SEC program.

What happens if Tennessee wins say 2 National Championships in those three years. Do you fire the head coach. To bring Tony back. I wish Tony never left. He built a really good baseball team. He is bringing in good recruits. Whoever ends up with the head coach job at Tennessee is going to get a really good baseball team.

By the time his contract with San Fran ends, ole Arky baseball coach will probably be retired. Horn’s gotta be like 70 lol

Less heat from the Vols fan base if he has no other choice but to go elsewhere if he fails in the pros instead of going from UT to Arkansas.

Hobbs is essentially the coach in waiting at Arky so I doubt Tony ends up there.

No way if Arkansas has a chance that they promote Hobbs over hiring Tony. We can think what we want, but their fans were elated that he left and they have a chance at him.
You aren’t making me feel any better about this. 😂

My belief is Tony will kill it in the MLB so hopefully it is a moot point.

Just posted this in another thread.

I just don’t think Danny would go for it, but with all the heat he’s getting to hire Elander, the heat to hire Tony back would be insaneeeeeeeee.
The problem with that is if Elander is hired and is still here when Tony comes available, you would have to fire E. I don’t think Tony would go for that.

The best shot at UT ever getting a second stint from Tony (which is extremely unlikely) is NOT to hire E

The roster is full of holes. Dodgers will probably get Tucker and Skubal. Lockout in 2027 more than likely.
Not a good spot for any manager to be honest.
I don’t know about most of you, but if somebody would pay me $3.5 million to not work because of a lockout I’m not complaining. And if he wants to come watch Tennessee baseball, I will definitely give him my two seats 😂

Come on preacherman, we all know you’re just giving him your tickets since you prefer to stand against/hold up the wall
