At this point in the season, we are what we are:
-excellent offense
-mediocre to worse defense.

We can throw tantrums, bitch and moan, and “fahr” everyone all we want, but the reality remains the same. At this point in the season, it’s doubtful that there will be significant improvement in the defense.

So, it’s on the coaches to do their best to game plan and try to win games around it through the end of the season. Heupel has proved to be excellent at this.

Remember when folks were saying “I hope Heupel can adapt to the SEC?” Well, he has excelled at adapting. Last year, we had the completely opposite situation and he found a way to cobble it together, lean on the defense and go 10-2. Let’s see if he can do the same with the offense here.

All of the other stuff needs to wait til the offseason. It would be foolish to start firing coaches at 6-2 and everything still available to play for. I think it’s doubtful that we win out, but it is certainly possible. I’m just going to enjoy watching this team compete each week. And it competes hard.

Heupel should reevaluate everything in the program every offseason. All coaches and the roster should be evaluated. I fully trust that he will make the right decisions.

So…carry on.

He better get rid of a few coaches. It gets real next year. No more easy SEC schedule

Agree with you. Its clearly obvious now that to win games we have to outscore the other team and just hope the D can can get a couple of TO's that turn into points. Going to take some luck to win out but possible if the breaks go our way.

Teams always have to outscore their opponents to win. And contrary to popular believe our opponents do NOT score every time they have the ball.

Reality is that we live in a win now or else time. Year zero, rebuilding, wait till next season...these are all gone now. The transfer portal and NIL have caused this. You don't have to like it...but it is reality.

Sigh Im going to keep saying this. Attrition has devastated our defensive backfield! Theyre all hurt! Jermod McCoy, Ricky Gibson, and Jourdan Thomas have all been out this year. Haven't played a single down! Plus we lost Jakobe Thomas in the spring to Miami and now Colton Hood is banged up. Im sorry but its hard to overcome all that. We've been extremely unlucky at that position group this year. Everyone wants to blame Tim Banks and Willie Martinez but coaching cant overcome that much attrition!
