Up to now, our record is exactly what most people thought it would be and the losses came from exactly who most people thought they would come from.

For the first time all year, we are playing a team in Oklahoma that most would consider our equal as far as on paper talent. We have similar records. And we are both vying for a playoff spot. At no other point this season has the stakes been higher! This Saturday, as some would say, is "nut-cutting" time! We will see just what this team is made of and how bad they want to get into the playoffs!

I believe we all know exactly what this team is by now. Neyland and Aguilar give us the advantage.

Will our defense make enough plays to slow OU down enough?

Agree...every game matters from here on out as always...WINS are all that matter...not stats, not yards, not points just the W

10-2 and we go to playoffs, 9-3 and we go to a Florida bowl and play a Big Ten team, really the only two options at this point

This is basically an elimination game. We’ve gotta be ready to play. They can’t run the 🏈 but we struggle when we don’t get pressure. Mateer is a scrambler and is going to try and make plays with his legs as well as his arm.

Offensively, we have to be efficient on 3rd down. They don’t have the secondary to keep up with our receivers but they have a good pass rush that can get 🏠

Crowd is going to be ready. Going to need our offense to rep the consistency and for our defense to be opportunistic. And for the love of all good things…TACKLE. And if we miss a tackle, we need to have 10 other hats swarming to the 🏈 GBO 🍊

I don't know if it's his injury or what, but a little pressure made him fall apart and over throw EVERYTHING yesterday
Yeah, he looked horrible yesterday. Maybe he’s a better thrower than that. I haven’t seen a ton of him, just a few here and there. He looks like a kid who usually makes good decisions, can make something out of nothing and is dangerous in the ground, which helps open things up through the air. He doesn’t look super-accurate but accurate enough. Again, I’m not reviewing stats, just based on what I’ve seen and it’s not much. He struggled with the Auburn D a good bit when healthy. I believe we win this game.

OU is the #1 ranked team in total defense. This game will likely define the rest of our season. Win it, then an off week, then NM State, we are looking at being 8-2 having played the toughest defense we will face. I like our chances although @UF scares me (haven't won there since like Bush's presidency) and thinking about what Pavia will do to our defense scares the crap out of me.

But OU will be/should be the toughest defense we face the rest of the year. Score at will on it, we should be good if our defense can play average. (yeah, I. know....average would be an improvement)

Ole Miss gave plenty of film on how to carve up this supposed scary defense on their home turf. OU fearmongering needs to stop.

We can’t rely on 4 man fronts all day long to get constant pressure. Are we capable of showing more formations on D? Can our coaches convey it? Can we mix up or scheme up some pressure. Can we quit looking so utterly confused on D so much. Our D seems to play safe and robotic, we have speed on the edges yet we don’t set the edge well at all sometimes. Time for us to do some dictating instead of our D trying to read and react all the time. GBO

Agree. This is the next game so it’s important but this one can keep us in the upper second tier. Neyland at night worth a few points.

The defense got a turnover against UGA and Bama that the offense did nothing with. It will take both sides of the ball to win.

Well, at least it’s the Vandy pimp if we lose and not that we would be beaten by a “traditional” Vandy team.

Does this make me a Pumper?

Oklahoma is NOT vying for a playoff spot. there's no way they survive the rest of their schedule including Tennessee.

Neyland at night and our offense rolling will be far too much. we don't lose at home unless your name is Kirby Smart.

OU’s defense is not as good as people thought it would be. It seems like every year teams start to figure out ways to deal with BV’s weird disguised coverages after it’s been on tape for a few games.

Mateer is good enough to beat our defense, but that’s not really saying much. He has been fairly unclutch in key situations.

I like our odds at night in a loud Neyland wearing black. We always seem to play harder.

I think Neyland is the difference maker and we win by 7-10 points in a sort of shootout. OU holds us back from doing our thing fully but our defense lets them keep it close.

Much like saying "I don't believe we'll win in Gainesville/Tuscaloosa again until I see it", I don't believe that we'll lose to a team not named Georgia in Neyland until I see it. Neyland is the advantage in this one. We win in a close one. If it's a blowout and a victory for us I'll gladly eat crow.

Their offense is sub par but they play great defense. Our defense is subpar but we play great offense. The deciding factor will be Neyland stadium imo. I recall the Oklahoma players when they visited last time were stunned by it.

The whole month of November will define the Vols season. Win out and play at least two games in the playoffs. That should tell every Vol fan what we need to know about this head coach and his staff.
