IMG_6629.pngOur Vols come into this game off of a get right game at Kroger Field…well, it was at least a get right game for the offense. It was still a “it’s all wrong” game for the defense. Going forward, it is very simple…win, and we are still in the conversation for the playoffs. Lose, and it’s over Moe. Oklahoma comes to Neyland off of a tough loss at home to Ole Miss. Winner of this game is still in it…the loser is officially out. It’s our only night game of the year, and it will be dark mode night! Neyland should be absolutely rocking! It’s gonna be a great environment for our team. Can we convert it into a win? Only time will tell.

For me, there’s only one major key to victory: can the defense figure out how to not be like diarrhea through a strainer…not able to stop anything??? The crowd SHOULD help some, but will it? Something isn’t right on that side of the ball. There is poor effort, poor tackling, poor eye discipline…actually there’s not much good I can think of except some opportune turnovers and even scores at times. I’m thankful for that at least! Is this situation with Boo more cancerous than we realize? I have no idea why we are so bad but we are. Hey Timmy, how about we try something different, like you moving down to the field to call the game instead of the box?! Maybe your guys need your help?! Do SOMETHING, ANYTHING different! The offense I believe will continue to score points. We will have to score at least 40 to win this one. Winning or losing will all come down to the defense making some stops somehow via turnovers or actually forcing an occasional punt. Let’s win this, and get healthy in the bye week to figure out how to go to the swamp and overcome that demon.

Vols - 52
Oklahoma - 49

Mateer looked average yesterday and was inaccurate down the stretch. He missed a couple open receivers with bad overthrows. Maybe his hand is still causing him some trouble. That being said he will probably fix all those issues this week and look like a Heisman candidate against us. Their RB also had a great game which could be a problem. Expecting a shootout and hoping the Neyland Night Game effect will make the difference. Wouldn't be surprised if we set a new noise level record.

I don't have a feel for this. Obviously the defense concerns me and I do think their defense could potentially be the best we've faced all year.

Neyland at night is huge. We'll be there and we won't be driving home with our voices.

Their defense has been overhyped all year and I think Ole miss proved that. I think we'll be able to move the ball on them pretty well.

Feeling pretty confident about this one
👀

Vols will once again struggle on Offense. Not very impressed with Joey Aguilar, isnt very mobile, and doesnt see field well. Arm isnt very accurate, and tries to make too much happen at times. Also, receivers dont catch enough catches, and running backs are carrying enough. Defense is superlative.

-Greg Mcelroy, prolly

Despite the putrid offense. This one will be close.

Vols - 60
We owe y'all an asswhuppin' - 30
