UT is ranked # 100 in total defense, allowing 400 Yds per game. Okla's Defense is ranked #6, giving up 240 YPG. Vols give up 31ppg, OK 12.5. AND, the Sooners have played a tougher schedule. Nobody has any idea how this game will play out, but Tennessee had better get some stops and the offense had better stay on the field; since logic tells us Okla will have an easier time at stopping UT than vice versa.

OU has played 3 teams currently ranked in the Top 25.
* Home vs Michigan : won 24-13
* Neutral site vs Texas: lost 23-6
* Home vs Ole Miss: lost 34-26

OU road games this year:
* @ Temple: won 42-3
* @ South Carolina: won 26-7

UT has played 2 teams currently ranked in the Top 25:
* Home vs UGA: lost 44-41 in OT
* @ Bama: lost 37-20

I realize their schedule is rated as tougher, but with only two road games to date, they have had favorable environments. We need to make Neyland as inhospitable as possible on Saturday night. It will be interesting to see how our OL performs as OU has 29 sacks (tied for 2nd in the country) vs our 27 (tied for 6th). Given time, I think we should be able throw against them. Ole Miss threw for 315 with 431 total yards. We have to get pressure on Mateer.

Should be a great game!

Tennessee will score against Oklahoma, just as they have everyone else. What did they hold Ole Miss to? Tennessee offense is better than OM

If we can score 30 on their defense that would be good, but we might need 40 with the lack of defense we have. If Mateer hadn't broken his thumb, I know he would score 40 against us

Defensive line has the sacks and some turnovers this year but I would argue that they’ve underachieved. We don’t stop the run at all. And even though we get sacks we don’t get a ton of pressure.

Sounds about even ... Both teams in Top 100!

3 of the 4 SEC teams OU has played had more than 240 YPG. Ole Miss which is the closest to us in terms of offensive output had 431 total yards offense. Ole Miss averages 484 to our 510 yards per game.

If our offense is clicking, I fully expect us to move the ball and score points. In the games this year, our offense has stopped themselves more than the defense of the other team.

Oklahoma has not played a tougher schedule than we have. Both Alabama And Georgia are better than anyone they have faced. Also, the only team Oklahoma has played that has a competent offense is Ole Miss and they scored 34 on OU's home field.

By years end they will have played a tougher schedule but not so much YTD.
I agree, although LSU's offense is not good and Mizzou will be without Pribula and on to their third string QB, so it may not be as tough as it once appeared other than Bama.

Mateer has not been the same player since the injury. If he is not at his best, they don't score a lot. I doubt we do either, but I think we should score more than them.

I wrote this one down as a Win after UGA game. But i had no idea our Defense would be so bad.

I’m conflicted as defense usually travels. Their DBs can cover snd they pressure the QB.
I personally think this is the best D we will face all year. If our defense doesn’t get better in a hurry this could be an ugly game for us.

how did OK stack up against Ole Miss? I don’t see how OK has player a tougher schedule. UT has played 2 top five schools and OK has played Texas and Ole Miss and Mich. Only Ole Miss is close to Bama and UGA.
