With Seth Littrell being on offensive analyst here now, it's hard not to imagine that he has had this game circled for some time and is putting in extra work to make sure that he gets to give his old boss a big thank you....I would expect some well scripted scoring series in the first half. Any thoughts on what we may try to exploit on the Oklahoma defense?

Literally attack their safeties. That is how Chambliss carved them up in the rain.

Thier strength is going on the road and battling our strength. Thier weakness is battling our boom or bust defense, and I have a very good feeling about getting some turnovers this game from Mateer.
This is the key for me. Tenn is one of the best in the country at forcing turnovers and even scoring. OU has only forced 4 or maybe 5. If that trend continues, Tenn wins.

My main concern is our run D without Carter. UK gashed us up the middle, making their QB look really good in the passing game. If we stack the middle to stop the run, Mateer will carve up our secondary. Will the OU offense vs our defense be better than our offense vs the OU defense? My confidence level is not as high as I would like.

Broken hand Mateer is almost definitely not better than UK's freshman, so you can't make this assumption with a straight face.

Mateer isn't carving up anything unless he buys a steak after the game. The only way he hurts us is with his running. His hand just isn't right. OU has a really good defense, but Team Kiffin showed how to beat them. My biggest fear is Aguilar making a couple of bonehead throws and giving OU eother a really short field or a pick 6. He seems to get careless sometimes and it is up to Heupel and the staff to keep him focused.

Boo Carter can’t tackle

UT needs to take advantage of the Freshman they have on the O-line. They need to get a least 4 sacks and keep pressure on Mateer. His completion percentage has dropped after the surgery. UT needs to keep it going in that downward direction.

To be fair teams have been running on Tennessee's defense even with Arion in the game.

Ole Miss gave us the blueprint. Run it if we get a light box. Take shots downfield if they load up. I like our chances winning the one on one battles on the perimeter, Joey just needs to get the ball out on time because OU will have a strong pass rush

Their weaknesses are the same as ours, the secondary and zone defense. The difference being their defense is good enough to get stops when they need them, our's isn't and that will be the difference in the game. We will have to play a flawless game offensively to win and likely need to score 35+ points. The question as always is will we be able to hold them under 30 and we couldn't do that last week to one of the worst offenses in the SEC.

He has actually made very few mistakes, 6 int. but most of those were on the receiversl, bad one against Bama, but thats really the only bad one I can remember.
