Unbelievable to relive the season and how many games we lost by one play . Two games two plays no CFP. Pitiful.

In the era of NIL and easy transfers via the Portal, there is little culture and desire to win. When players sit out Bowl games to not risk injury with the Draft on the horizon, then there is no TEAM mentality. It’s all about me. College football players are simply employees working for whomever pays them the most. If it does not add value to my portfolio then I’m not going to any thing extra. Heck, coaches getting paid $50 million dollars when they get fired! Is there really a reason to give a dang anymore? Talent alone does not win games. We have plenty of players that don’t give their all. Watch the secondary tackle. It’s more like Deion than it is Ronnie Lott.

Friend, you really nailed it here! Not at all surprised with the insane coaches' contracts, transfer portal (pigskin pimps}, N.I.L. {pay-for-play) mega-conferences, ad nauseum.

You don't think the guys want to win? Any athlete who is good enough to play D1 football wants to win. They are ultra competitive. They may care about money more but not wanting to win isn't the problem

We likely aren’t done losing. It will show that we’re not two plays away from the playoff. Even Vandy makes clutch plays at winning time.

So much talent? On offense, maybe? There is very little talent on defense that is healthy and a kicker who misses at critical moments. Joey Aguilar is a good quarterback but not great and Matthews has dropped some key passes. We are a good team, not a great team so our record is about what it should be

College football has changed. This season--nationwide--is unlike any other.
Look back at each week's Top-25 scoreboard this season. Look at all the "upsets" each week. Look around. It's not us. It's everybody.

Agree, I have no problem with the effort. It's just whatever, "it," is they just dont have it.

Man. I wish other programs had to deal with these issues. Weird how these national rule changes only affect us.

Not being able to stop the run and injuries in the secondary were going to cost us. You basically have no Gibson, McCoy, and 100% obvious Boo will not be here next year.

Weakest at tight end I have ever seen. The one we keep going to and getting the ball dropped couldn't start for other SEC teams. Linebackers and DB's, as a whole, are not upper lever SEC material. The offensive line?? They got whipped as a unit ALL NIGHT. The best receivers, as a whole, we have ever had. Hard to evaluate Joey as he had someone in his face before he was ready to throw.

There was a reason he didn’t play at Bama

You weren't around for 2002 and 2005... this was bad but those season were worse.

2008 and back half of 2016 were rough as well.

I can’t say I’ve seen Tennessee “manhandled” in any game this year but the consistent mistakes seem to be the common theme in each of the 3 losses.

Players aren’t coached not to line up correctly, false starts, etc. but coaching has made its share of mistakes also. Not taking the holding penalty was dumb. Not having personel right on 3rd & 16 was dumb, running 3 straight times after a TO (once again) is dumb, throwing to an inexperienced player in the most critical play of the season is dumb.

I like Heupel, don’t want to see another coach search anytime soon but he & his staff have to get better.

Guess you missed most of the 1990s and 2000s? lol

I was about to say...you forget the 1999 team....2001? 2002? 2005 team started out #3. And that's just Tennessee, we forget all the Mark Richt teams? All the losses Les Miles got being an idiot with all that talent?

1999 team was probably the most underachieving UT team in history, although they did at least get to a major bowl.

Remember they had to literally have a Hail Mary to beat Memphis at home 17-16?

Yep and most probably dont' because that was back when 1 game a year at least was on PPV and probably not that many pepole actually saw it. Today that would have been an SEC Network or ESPN2 game and it would have gotten major coverage.
