Would love to see us spend more. I think we have an untapped potential in hoops.

Tennessee has always took the approach of "let's wait til we are winning to throw money at it" and I expect that's what they will do here. Barnes needs to push for some $$$ to be thrown at the program this offseason if things continue to trend up.

I am curious what area you think the increase should be put to use in from the budget?

I'd bet that number includes debt payments related to bonds used when Pratt was built and the TBA was renovated.

Recruiting budget. Marketing. Facilities.

I would love to see the recruiting budget but for every sport I have ever seen reported Tenn is always at the top in the nation for recruiting already. I am betting we already spent all we need there.

Marketing I could see.

Facilities we already have great facilities. The only thing Kentucky has that we don't is the residence for the players so maybe that's something we could do.

I've never seen anything listed for recruiting budget except football where we spend a ton.

We have great facilities but I think we could continue to do better there. Not sure what we are missing but I'm sure there's something else we can do. Pratt Pavilion is not brand new anymore.

I just think we could become the 2nd best program in this conference if we truly committed to winning at hoops.

I saw baseballs recruiting budget listed somewhere a few years back and it was at the top of the SEC

There is about a 12 mil difference from Kentucky to ours. About half that is coaching salaries is my guess. I am wondering how the operating cost of Rupp and TBA compare.

Rupp is owned by Lexington Center Corp. so there is a cost there.

This is from Dec 2016:

▪ UK has agreed to an annual base lease payment of $1.9 million to Lexington Center. That payment will increase by 2.4 percent each year.

▪ UK will pay Lexington Center $4.75 million each year for media rights.

▪ Lexington Center will receive 15 percent of merchandise sales and will be paid a not-yet-decided amount for parking.
