make it so hard to pull for the guy because of how they grovel over him regardless of the situation. Here in the Genesis tournament a moment ago they were talking about him playing “fantastic golf“ when the guy’s 10 shots off the damn lead. I realize it’s another “comeback” for Woods, but geez.
If what a broadcaster has to say about Tiger Woods tips the scales on whether or not you pull for him, chances are you weren’t much of a fan to begin with.
Yep. It's remarkable the degree to which he moves the needle, because it isn't like the Tour currently has a lack of good young players. It is unbelievable that this guy is able to shoot anything above about an 85 in a Tour event, much less make the cut. Also the truth is a hobbled, aging TW is still a bigger ratings draw than most if not all the other PGA players. So they know what the viewers want and are going to cater to it. If TW stops moving the needle, they'll stop talking about him.
You obviously don't understand the game at the top shelf. His game was phenomenal given the circumstances. If you"ve ever known anyone personally that you thought was good enough to play on the top level professional tours, how many have actually made it. There are over 200,000 players nationwide with handicap indexes of +1 or less. In other words, those are players who will shoot 68 regularly at the local clubs and munisYeah, but not “fantastic” or he wouldn’t be 12 strokes off the lead.
Glad to see him back out there playing, though.
According to the USGA there are around 20,000 +1 handicapsYou obviously don't understand the game at the top shelf. His game was phenomenal given the circumstances.
