Rifle armed NC State QB of the early 60’s. 2nd pick of the ‘62 NFL LA Rams died today at the age of 83…..my first college football hero….RIP Sir.

Loved him, except when he was beating my Baltimore Colts. He really screwed up the Colts 1967 season. The Rams uniforms were simple and great then as well.

I saw NC State play miss Southern one fall night in Hattiesburg 1960! He was a man among boys! Completed his first seven or eight passes in what seemed incredibly easy for him!

Eh, a lot of bandwagoners back then latched on to the Packers. That's why I loved it when the Rams and Vikings f'ed them up. I still remember backup LB for Rams, Tony Guillory, picking off pass across the middle to clinch win over Packers.

In the mid to late 60s we’d sometimes get to go to a convenience store called the Minit Check in Cleveland- there you could load up on baseball and football trading cards AND get a big stick of bubble gum in the pack as well. Still have many of those, now if I can just remember where I put them…
