Smith is a top priority in this class for Tennessee. If you recall, Butch Jones recently hosted a satellite camp for lineman at University School in Jackson, where he currently attends.
Smith listed Tennessee in his top six earlier this month.

Not sure of what kind of schedule they play . However, you will not have to worry about his academics , for sure. If I am not mistaken that school was once called Old Hickory Academy. I live about 80 miles from Jackson Tn. If he is rated a 5 star lineman and attends Jackson University School, I would say he deserves the rating. Lots of good players in that area of West Tennessee.
He’s definitely very highly regarded by all of the recruiting services. Only Rivals doesn’t rate him five stars, and that’s been the subject of much debate.
No doubt, he’s the kind of player that could be the cornerstone of our 2017 class.
Thanks for the comment ReelfootVol.
Hopefully the first breakfast of many there!
As have so many other Vol’s fans, I’ve been pulling for this young man to spend his next few years in Gibbs Hall. Anybody doubting Butch’s resolve to replace bama as the top team in the SEC might want to take note of how he’s stocking up on the most valuable attribute a major football power must possess; and that’s a stable of 3-deep-everywhere giant slobberknockers. Given Butch’s tenacity at closing the players he really, really wants, I like our chances.
