- ESPN published an interesting stat concerning Tennessee this morning: ’17 Days until 1st Thursday of CFB Season: Tennessee set the FBS record with 17 straight regular-season shutouts from Nov. 1938 to Oct. 1940′
- The ‘college football professor’ Adam McClintock has updated his analytics on Tennessee. His numbers predict a 10-2 regular season, with the only losses coming to Florida and Alabama.
- The Battle of Atlantis matchups are set, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, and the Vols get Purdue. “Battle of Atlantis matchups, per source: Purdue vs. Tennessee, Villanova vs. Western Kentucky, NC State vs. Arizona, SMU vs. Northern Iowa.”
- Leave it to at least one media outlet to pick up on Butch and his slogans. The Associated Press picked up on Jones’ comments that every coach has slogans and how it’s blow out of proportion here at Tennessee.
