VIDEO: Five-star Tennessee commit Cade Mays, a man among boys

Cade Mays looked like a man among boys last night in Catholic’s 49-42 heartbreaking loss to Maryville.

The 6-5, 300-pound Tennessee commitment tossed around defenders like rag dolls. Multiple times, after destroying his first attacker, Mays looked around like a predator trying to locate his next victim.

Mays’ size and strength was obvious. Again and again he knocked defenders to the ground.

But he did more for Catholic last night than play on the line, Mays also scored a touchdown running the football. Lining up in the backfield, he blasted through the line for two yards into the end zone.

Mays is rated five stars by 247Sports. He’s the No. 2 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 1 player in the state of Tennessee.

Mays was the Vols first commitment in the 2018 class. He committed to Tennessee all the way back in July of 2015.

  1. Okay can we go ahead and nickname this kid “Roadblock”. Seriously he looks like he can stop an entire D Line by himself.

  2. He is no gentle giant……….he has a mean streak. The way he thrower a few of those kids, I am surprised no one got hurt. Looking forward to seeing this kid suit up! Go Vols!

  3. Is he related to former Vol OL Kevin Mays? I remember he was from Kingston & also had a mean streak.

  4. The first thing that came to mind was the movie “The Blind Side” hope this story turns out well too.

    • That is actually a really good comparison. In fact, I’m surprised I didn’t think of it. Ha.

      Thanks for the comment greenbacknative.
