“Things are going really good for our team,” said Cyrus. “I like how we are coming along on the offensive line and the team looks really solid right now. I think we could be pretty good once we get everything down pat and figured out.”
The Kouandjio brothers were coming home from a scrimmage for DeMatha High School and Cyrus spoke about the scrimmage.
“We had a few things to work on, the running game, improving our pass blocking, and figuring out depth,” said Cyrus. “I think we got some answers along those question marks. I played pretty well, there is always things I need to learn and do better but overall I was pleased.”
With an older brother going through the recruiting process Cyrus has taken a backseat approach and watches what older brother Arie is doing in hopes to have a successful recruiting process for himself next year.
“I just watch how he handles himself and watch what he does,” said Cyrus. “Arie and I talk here and there about going to school together and keeping this thing going. We just spoke about it earlier today in fact. It’s not a done deal but if we could do it I think we will try.”
So what schools is Cyrus hearing from right now?
“Well I have a few offers right now, Maryland, Boston College, North Carolina, Pitt, and West Virginia,” said Cyrus. “I hope to hear from a lot of other schools as well down the road. Right now I’d love to hear from Alabama and Tennessee to be honest. Those aren’t schools I would say I love or have them as a favorite, just schools that really interest me and I want an offer from them. I hope they get me an offer on September 1st when guys in my class can get offers.”
What about those two schools interest Cyrus?
“Well for one, my brother is looking at each school so that is a place I could play with him,” said Cyrus. “Also, I like the fact that both of them are in the SEC conference and play some of the best football in the country. Both schools have great offensive lineman and that is something I know Arie is looking for and it is something I am definitely looking for. I want to get good coaching.”
