Earlier Volnation.com introduced you to Darrian Miller from Blue Springs high school in Blue Springs, MO and now we introduce you to fellow teammate Bernard Thomas who stars for the Wildcat program as a defensive back and projects to play corner at the next level.
Thomas is a speed demon out on the island that he plays at for his cornerback spot on the state runner up Wildcat program. Thomas is 5’11 and runs the forty yard dash in 4.43 seconds. Because of this ideal corner size and blazing speed college coaches have come calling to see what Thomas can offer for their program and what their chances are going to be to land him.
For the Tennessee Volunteers the speedy Thomas is looking to be offered and very soon.
“I actually got told that I am supposed to call the coaches at Tennessee and get on the phone with them this week sometime around Monday or Tuesday,” said Thomas. “The staff is supposed to be offering me when I call them so I am pretty excited for that.”
Thomas has become a fan of the Vols because of two friends who Thomas knew before a move to Missouri.
“I actually am a big fan of the Vols since Gerald Jones and David Oku went to Tennessee,” admitted Thomas. “We are all from Oklahoma and that is pretty big for me. I still was very interested in the Vols before they went there though because the program out there is always good and I like what coach Dooley is doing with rebuilding them up and bringing them back to their winning ways the right way.”
While having a strong relationship with Oku is going to be crucial for the chances of the Vols landing Thomas he did say he wouldn’t commit right away.
“I wouldn’t commit right away but you know I will be calling David to let him know they offered me and I am sure he will get very excited,” says Thomas.
Kansas has offered Thomas a scholarship and Illinois, Arkansas, and Kansas State are all very close to offering Thomas said.
“I am supposed to call all Arkansas along with Tennessee this week and that is when I am told I will get my offer. Illinois has told me my official offer should be coming soon and Kansas Sate has said the same thing,” explained Thomas.
Thomas also informed VolNation.com that Oklahoma State, Minnesota, Tulsa, and Oklahoma are all in the picture as well.
Thomas has expressed interest in playing at the next level with his teammate Darrian Miller and the Vols could be a school to give
