in Tennessee Vols Football Recruiting

sterling-baileyThe Tennessee Volunteers are led by Coach Derek Dooley who has a plan to re-establish the once powerhouse Vol program. To do that he’s being very strict on his attention to 2011 recruits and who he wants. You can say the Vols are looking for that perfect fit when it comes to recruits.

Sterling Bailey (Gainesville, GA/ East Hall HS) is one of those perfect fits for the Vols and Volnation.com caught up with Bailey.

“I do have an offer from the Vols, and (Laughs) a lot of other offers as well,” admitted Bailey. “I have too many to count.”

Auburn, Cal, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and USC are just a few of the many offers Bailey reports.

While having too many offers to count the Vols have caught the attention of the Georiga end.

“I haven’t been up to Tenenssee yet but at this point from what I have learned from the staff and others about Coach Dooley and Coach Smith it really sounds like a great opportunity and a college that I will have to check out,” says Bailey.”

“The staff has been talking to me about once a week or so and just trying to get me up there so they can sit me down with my parents and show me tape of the Vols and what I can do there. That kind of thing.”

Because the Vols have been keeping up with Bailey he states the staff and him have developed a good relationship and that he looks to build on it.

“Ya I have a great relationship with the coaching staff at Tennessee and we just get along well and mesh really well,” explained Bailey.

There was some rumors that Bailey had a top ten and the Vols were in it so VolNation.com looked for some clairification.

“I don’t have a top ten or anything,” says Bailey. “I don’t know who said that but I am totally open to all schools and I really want that to be known. I am looking at every school right now because I want to give everyone a fair shot.”

While Bailey doesn’t have a top 10 he already knows what he wants to find his in his future college.

“There are three main things I want to find from a college, a good relationship from the coaches, get along well with the players, and then I want to have that spiritual connection to the school telling me this is where I need to be,” states Bailey.

Bailey told VolNation.com that he’s looking to maybe decide before his senior year starts to allow him to focus on his senior year.

“I want to try and narrow thigns down before my senior year, but that won’t mean I will choose a school I haven’t visited,” states Bailey. “I could very well pick a school I haven’t visited yet if I feel like it is the school I need to be at.
