Adamsville, AL.- Prospects all over the country have started to dive head first into the recruiting process. Some of the top players push it off until spring time is complete, and for most it is now behind them. Minor high star Christion Jones has had a solid spring, but has already listed some top schools on his board. The elite defensive back has schools offering him to play either safety or corner, and even a school that likes him at wide receiver.

“I’m at like 12 or 13 offers right now I think 13. I have offers from Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Clemson, Ole Miss, UCLA, and Texas A&M are a few of the ones I can think of. My top five are Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt are my top 5. I’m going to take my time though, take some visits and wait until next season before I decide. Some schools like me at safety, some at corner, and Mississippi state said wide receiver. So I guess you could say I’m an athlete.”

One of the home state schools has delayed on offering Christion. With a limited number of scholarships for coach Saban and company, and a highly rated safety already on board, Christion could be near an offer. But it’s difficult to tell. He talked about the Tide briefly and his stance with them.

“Alabama hasn’t offered yet, but they are in the mix. I’m actually going to visit there on the 7th. Then I will visit Notre Dame at the end of June. I will probably visit Tennessee and Florida too this summer.”

With several schools on his list and hosting the top recruit, he spoke about what he is looking for in a college choice.

“I am looking for good coaching. Good communication between the coaches and players. Auburn is recruiting me the hardest and I like the coaches and people there. Tennessee, I just like the coaching staff, plus they lost some secondary guys so I could come in early and compete. Coaches like speed, quickness, and awareness. I’m working on my man to man coverage and footwork right now. I don’t really care which position I play, I just like to play football.”

Stay tuned to find out the latest with Christion as we will check in with him after his visits have concluded.
