The University of Tennessee announced that sophomore quarterback Tyler Bray suffered a fractured right thumb in the fourth quarter of the team’s game against Georgia at Neyland Stadium Saturday night. The injury was confirmed by X-rays taken today.
The estimated recovery time for Bray is six weeks.
A 6’6, 210-pound sophomore from Kingsburg, Calif., Bray has completed 116 of 176 pass attempts (65.9 pct.) this season for 1,579 yards, 14 touchdowns and two interceptions. He currently ranks first in the SEC in passing touchdowns (14), total offense (303.8), passing yards per game (315.8), and pass efficiency (165.2).
In 14 career games, including 10 starts, Bray has completed 241 of 400 passes (60.3%) for 3,428 yards, 32 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He ranks tied for seventh on the Tennessee career list with his 32 touchdown passes and set the school record for consecutive games with multiple touchdown passes with 10.
