2011 offensive tackle recruit Bobby Hart has recently made a big move. The large junior has decided to transfer from Cardinal Gibbons to St. Thomas Aquinas for his senior season. He will be finishing his junior year there and will play his senior season of football with them as well. This young prospect from the sunshine state currently holds a few solid offers, including one from Florida State. We caught up with him to gather his thoughts on his transfer and to hear about his current recruiting status.

“Yeah I decided to transfer to St. Thomas Aquinas high school. The paperwork should be finished very soon. I’m excited, I decided to transfer so I could get better and face better competition. On the recruiting front I currently hold offers from: FSU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Maryland. Most schools are recruiting me on the offensive side of the ball. Florida called today in fact. Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina all have informed me that they are in the process of evaluating my game tape which they just got. South Carolina visited right before winter break, they informed me an offer would be on the way. I just found out about my Florida State offer today, apparently they sent it a little bit ago.”

Things seem to be really heating up for this young prospect. He currently plans on attending the Army All American game in Texas. With a solid performance there that could really project this young player into a more elite status of recruits. Bobby was nice enough to talk a little more about recruiting and his thoughts.

“I don’t have a leader right now, I’m not close to narrowing it down. It’s too early to do that for me. I’ve taken unofficials to Alabama, Miami, and Florida. All three schools showed me one important thing I will be looking for and that is the fanbase. I really like that. I’m also concerned with academics, I would love to be an engineer, since I’m pretty good at math. I would be happy with a school that has a really good math progam as well. I also will be looking at depth chart, I would rather not redshirt, I would love to play right away if at all possible.”

Bobby is in no rush to make a decision however. He has a great blend of size and speed for a big man. He can play anywhere along the line, and also on the defensive side of the ball. He plans to play offensive tackle at St. Thomas Aquinas, but will play defensive tackle if needed he claims. He broke down some of his strong points, and some things he wants to work on.

“I want to work on my pass blocking a little bit. Just my technique needs to be better. My feet are real quick and my run blocking is a plus. I love to run block, I’m very agressive. I like playing offensive tackle, but I will play where I’m needed.”

Right now he claims a few schools are recruiting him the hardest.

“In this order, I would say Maryland, Vanderbilt, FSU, Miami, and Florida are recruiting me the hardest. I would like to hear a little more from Oregon, LSU, and Alabama. Cincinatti could enter into the picture as well, they are close to offering my teammate and I wouldn’t mind playing with him and Tim Burton at the next level if possible. I’m very open and I plan on definitely taking all 5 official visits next year.

Bobby, i’m very proud of youand i love you dearly. Thank you for mentioning academics because we(your family) know that that’s an important tool. Please stay grounded and humble through all of this because “god” has something wonderful in mind for you. Chris and Carla Hart the two of you has raised four beautiful kids with two in college now on scholarships, keep up the good work. Bobby, go get nephew and you know i’m a hurricane fan.

Love You,
Uncle Horsee
