They are the dumbest things I've ever seen. Not just the Rangers one that is getting all the controversy. Any time a large organization does something dumb like this, you think about all the internal hoops/checks and balances it presumably went through and yet it still went out that way. This tweet sums it up:

The Astros and Angels are my favorite! Here is a picture of an Oakland hat they did last fall.😂👌

New Era designs have been absolute garbage for awhile. Everytime I go to check about getting a Braves hat there is some stupid ass patch on it. No, I don’t want the 1999 World Series patch where the Braves got swept on my $40 hat that’s red and black and the Braves don’t even wear on the field

What the hell even is this???

When I bought my Braves hat a couple of years ago (the exact same hat the players wear for home games), I had to sift through about 15 or 20 of these kinds of designs just to find the plain ole Braves home hat. I can't believe there's a market for that stuff. The designs are so busy/messy and look horrible.

Also, sports teams generally need to sell more kids' apparel that is simply infant/toddler/youth versions of the stuff they make for adults. The stuff that they do to make it "for kids" (adding designs, cartoon-type stuff) is stupid. If he wants to wear something with a cartoon on it he'll wear his Lightning McQueen shirt. My son sees Braves/Vols stuff that I wear and wants the exact same thing. I was able to find a regular looking Acuna shirsey for him a couple years ago, but it was like the only thing they had available that was the same thing they'd sell in an adult size. The Vols are better at this than the Braves, but it is still pretty limited.

Apparently Manfred and others is pressuring him to sell to a group based in Tampa that will contribute more private funding. Nashville still is probably #1 for Sternberg is he tries and leaves. Either way, this pushes expansion back even further.

From practice notes:

We’ve seen the Vols work more pistol-formation stuff just with the quarterback-running back mesh-point drills, and there’s also perhaps been more condensed-formation type of stuff with the wide receivers here and there – and that’s not anything Tennessee has never done before, but when this offense is known so much for its wide splits, that’s a noticeable difference.

MORE OF THAT
