I've been busy for a bit and just now started hanging around a bit more and wanted to share a little bit with my fellow volnationers. Met with our elders today after worship and I'm being put forth to the congregation as a candidate for deaconship. The past few months have been a bit rough with work being so busy because of all the bad weather, and losing my beagle fat fat to kidney failure.

That being said, the Lord is presenting me with an opportunity to serve Him and His congregation and I am totally blessed and thankful for it. As long as no-one has any objections to me serving next week, I will officially be a deacon the following week. I feel as though I'm being rewarded with an opportunity I don't deserve. I know the congregation was asked 2 weeks to turn in names that they felt would be good candidates and I was told today that every list that was turned in had me on it. I feel honored and wanted to share with my VN family my good fortune. I say all this to ask for prayers for my success in the role if I were to be selected.

We never deserve His goodness. All we can do is be a good steward of those blessings and opportunities. The fact that you understand it is an opportunity to serve and not a title, is important! Will be praying for you!

I don’t know if that’s a good comparison. His scheme is fast and emphasizes offense, but it isn’t turnover prone and doesn’t rely on turnover generation. And it certainly doesn’t involve much substitution.
