President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

You linked a story about Mississippi. The legislation we were discussing was in Wyoming. Those two states have almost nothing in common, including the % of Mormons in the population. Thanks for playing.
Neither Missouri nor Wyoming is even in the top 10 states for Mormon population.

Republicans, not Mormons, are keeping child marriage on the books.

Listen closely. I said that there were only 2 states in the nation that have a higher % of the state’s population that are Mormons. Wyoming is #3 at over 11% of the state’s population. It is behind only Utah and Idaho. That is a fact. I never said a thing about Missouri.

In the link you posted, go to the 2nd data table and then sort it in descending order of % of state population.

Obama fundamentally changed the party and they got high on their own supply. Their arrogance is manifest in Trump's election in 2016 and they still didn't learn anything. The worry for Reps right now is that they will descend into madness, albeit a different kind, just like the Democrats did leading to another flip of political power.

When Trump leaves, the Republicans will fall right back into the uniparty

Yes you can say they are a little different ...

From the article:

The Trump administration has written to French companies holding U.S. government contracts ordering them to comply with an executive order banning diversity, equity and inclusion programs, two people familiar with the matter said.

"We inform you that Executive Order 14173, Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-based Opportunities, signed by President Trump, applies to all suppliers and service providers of the U.S. Government, regardless of their nationality and the country in which they operate," reads the letter, according to a copy that French newspaper Le Figaro published on its website.
An official close to French Finance Minister Eric Lombard said the matter would be taken up with the U.S. government.

"This practice reflects the values of the new U.S. government. They are not the same as ours. The minister will remind his counterparts in the U.S. government of this," the official said.

Lol, you didn't actually read the bill, or the law that it amends, did you?

The GOP seems to have no problem getting them while they are "ripe and fertile".

Kinda hypocritical to say a 16yo is old enough to decide on gender changing surgery but not old enough to decide to get married.

It almost never occurs in the US, but of course, there's no difference between someone diagnosed with gender dysphoria, receiving you medical care, and you wanting to marry a 14 year old when she's "ripe and fertile" in accordance with GOP legislative goals.

I am pretty sure that females most fertile times are between the ages of 20 and 26. That's at least according to one study I read.

Back in the "Good ole days", my ex's great grand parents, who had somewhere around 4 or 5 children and stayed together until death had an age difference that wouldn't fly in today's times. He was in his 20's when they married, and she was 12. She had her first child at 14. It's really hard to fathom that now, because he would be doing 20 years in modern times, just crazy to think about. I guess he was established and had the means to take care of her...idk.

Good for WVa. And before anyone brings up 14 year olds, WVa's minimum age with parental consent is 16. A 16 year old marrying an 18 or so year old isn't ideal but it's good to have that option if pregnancy is involved, especially if the girl doesn't want or isn't allowed an abortion by the puritans.
