2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

To me, JG, Boswell and Nate were a very strong 1-3. This new group with the addition of Juke appears to be at least their equal. Aimes and Lundblade are a vast improvement on our wing depth. I would still prefer our 3 departing posts to the current 3 on the roster but as the season plays out I may well be proven wrong. JMO and I can accept that it may be a minority position and respect the opposing view.
Fair enough. I think Boswell is vastly overrated by our fans in relation to his actual overall impact, last year. That belief is largely related to false hope syndrome with relation to initial expectations for him. I love what we added in his place and don't believe we will look back.

In a vacuum, what we lost is better than what we added in the post, but a lot of that is contingent on the health of Estrella and Phillips. I think the additions on the whole, though, are a net positive. FWIW, however, a lot of national folks are just kind of lukewarm on our 2026-27 potential as opposed to our fans who think we are slam dunk top-5.

"Experts" and national sports media pundits do not know more about your team than you do. It's highly likely they know more about other teams than you do

Been screaming this forever. I see podcasts and X accounts quoted here like it's legitimate information, which is ridiculous, but even the "experts" on ESPN and what not are essentially glorified fans who I no more trust for information as any fan that pays attention. It's why I haven't watched any of that garbage for more than 20 years.

Super pumped about the team next year. At the very least, we won’t be boring to watch with this many options to score the basketball. Just hope our lack of experience and size doesn’t end up biting us in the end as so many teams try and shift to rosters with a front court emphasis. Our lack of depth there is really the only thing that has me concerned.

Last years team had two scorers on the entire team. That will not be the case with this team.

I don’t think we will have a lack of depth in the front court. Maybe a lack of EXPERIENCED depth.

Florida continuing to load up. Looking at this guy’s numbers, I wish we had pursued him.

Well sure, but Igor Milicic, all 6'-10" and 224 lbs of him, came over from Charlotte averaging 12.8 PPG and 8.7 RB - and 38% from 3. 2 AST rather than 3. But pretty comparable stats. Anyway, he came in with folks salivating over his stats and numbers, and yet most of those same folks were pretty indifferent to Milicic's presence by the end of the year. Sometimes the stats follow, sometimes they don't.

Haralson could sneakily be in line for a lot of minutes given probably a freshmen is his backup unless go big with Brown at 4. On3 guys seem to favor Brown over Rubin as starter which would be interesting. I think with this team Brown could find minutes at 5 and 4 depending on size needs.

Yeah, I see Brown at the 4/5...Lue is also an interesting one, he's got the size to play 4/5 but also could be a 3 when needed. This roster has a lot of players that are athletic enough to allow position-less basketball lineups.

I do think your best options at the point are Hill and Dai Dai...then potentially Troy when healthy and I'm sure Clark will get opportunities there as well. Juke can obviously play 2 or 3, Lundblade can as well. Rubin is probably the only player that's going to be at one spot exclusively unless they land that 7' kid and let the 2 play together some, Rubin is your 5

Brown has the same wingspan as Felix. He isn’t the athlete that Felix or Rubin are, but I don’t see any reason he can’t play the 5. And cool thing about him is his skill give him the flexibility to play 4 like we saw most of this year.

I think Haralson is a big key to this team. If he can play the 4 and be defensively good and do the little things required of the 4 position in a Rick Barnes offense (screening) it can unlock so much for us.

He needs to be a very willing and good screener, period. If he doesn’t go out there and do it, my expectation is he actually gets benched for Brown.
