OK, here are the sports that get me most excited as a Vol Fan. Football first. Basketball a fairly distant second. Womens basketball an even more distant third. Then Baseball. All other sports I generally learn about from posters here (Tennis, Golf). I'd possibly have more interest in those sports if I could watch them on TV. Not driving up 3.5 hours though just to see those sports.

Just interested in other's take.

Ok, it makes sense. I just saw some footage of the first (fan) filmed Tennessee-Alabama football game. 1929.

You see the guy in the vertical stripes? That is the early Alabama jersey. You see the guy trailing and to that player's right in the all white jersey? That is the official. So what happened?

In an act of overwrought enthusiasm, the officials literally started wearing Bama jerseys during the games. May as well. Bama then changed to the boring red jerseys we now know in order to distinguish (a) who were their team's players and (b) who were their team's officials.
