He has first round talent. He isn’t a locker room terror like others. He’s dealing with personal problems and concussion issues. Big difference

Seems to me like our roster is very good but that the other top teams have more elite hitters than us. I think getting to the semifinal with the roster is pretty dang good. Not that I'm a women's softball expert.

I'm just never going to gripe about a team getting to the semifinals when nobody has us anywhere near one of the favorites entering the tournament. I just think if you take a step back the other top teams simply had substantially more hitting than us. Texas simply has a better lineup than we do and expecting your pitching to only give a couple runs/game to win is a big ask at this point in the tournament. I do like finding the twins though. Didn't the Lady Vols basketball team try that strategy this year? How did that go?

Karen's teams' shortcomings have always been hitting. Strengths have always been defense and pitching.

Even in years where we've had All-American hitters it's just like... one girl who can hit. Then a major drop off.

It's rather perplexing. Like consistently teams filled with a bunch of Ariel Antiguas.

Seems like you'd want to recruit more talented hitters and make them better defenders. Idk tho

she's not like ben joyce. she's a starter. only corollary is they throw fast. she throws velo but relies on location like Joyce. she has a drop ball and change up. She was tired, and had surgery this year. Ball didnt have great movement, and went to changeup too late.

Absolutely timid at the plate. Unable to manufacture runs (like Texas just put an absolute clinic on us) when we desperately need it (like against Texas Tech, when she clearly told every batter to swing for the fences until it finally worked). Shook up the lineup so much the infield has committed bad errors.

Game is not over and we cannot count them out but this has been horrible to watch.

You make it sound like TX is just some bum team that we should have dominated. Good grief man.

OK handles Ga Tech. We lose to ECU and VCU. Sounds about right for Vol Sports. You can’t just lose…you have to make it excruciating.

Ditto Vol Hoops (Houston, Michigan)
Softball (Texas)
Football (OSU)
I don’t care about tennis/rowing/track but I’m sure they’re guilty too

When it really matters we show that we don’t belong. Every sport. Program-wide.
