Thinking about Dooley compared to Fulmer

Maybe the NCAA decided to to give up probation over the Kiffin stuff, because Dooley was our coach and they knew we would not win. I wonder how many seasons Dooley could fail, before Barbara Dooley started calling for his head.

Dude...we have had this talk like a ten times.

Johnny thinks he was stabbed. Therefore, he was stabbed. It does not matter what Phil thinks.

It is just like harassment in the work place. The person who is on the receiving end decides what is over the line.

Dude.....we have had this conversation. And for the 11th time, thinking it happened and it actually happened are 2 completely different issues.

The truth is he would have fired Clawson and hired somebody else and I guarantee we would be getting 9-10 wins, Fulmer was a competitor and he was going to get it back. He would have had a hard time with Saban, but with Fulmer out there with some fire again recruiting it would have been a lot harder on Saban.

The point is not to bring Fulmer back, the point is we got rid of Fulmer for far worse. The fact we are hanging on is just the sad state of affairs.

Fulmer was working off of borrowed time when he finally got the boot. Comparing his circumstances to CDD is utterly useless with one exception. Do you think that maybe, just maybe, a lot of folks still in power at UT realized that giving him the pink slip mid-season didn't work out so well. At a result, they may be reluctant to do so again AND will only do so after CDD's replacement is lined up. Granted, that might not appease the mega-doners that hangout on VN that demand instant justice.

Canning CDD accomplishes absolutely nothing right now.

Yea, nice job. Make a thread about something, but then don't make a single point.

Please post less often.

Okay you are an idiot, because the point was no argument was needed. Go back to your dorm and worship Bray.

No...there is no comparison--and I'll preface that by saying I don't want Fulmer back either...but yeah Dooley doesn't hold a candle.

OK---If dooley had come in under similar circumstances as Fulmer, AH HA----chew on that. Majors left the Team stocked with NFL talent. AND a solid Staff. Hmmmm----------HMMmmmmm. Dooley is definitely in a higher bracket---no offense; Phil. (work like heck)

1 year removed from the SECG championship? Borrowed time?

Fine let him finish the season, but start the search now.

Johnny needed to be stabbed. Phil did it! Rah Phil. It was the best thing for the big orange nation. So I don't see why you continue to insist that Phil had nothing to do with Johnny's demise.

I still believe that by this year, he would've won the SEC, passed Neyland on the all-time wins, and legitimately retired on his own and we could get anyone we wanted. For some reason, I think the rich donors didn't want him to touch Neyland's record, and that they finally had a "good reason" to force him out. Whether or not that is true, I don't know, but that is the most logical reason they'd force out a Hall of Fame coach who just played for the conference championship.

Of course there's no comparison. Dooley isn't even a fraction of the coach Phillip Fulmer was. That said, Fulmer got lazy and wasn't going to win much at all against the Sabans, Spurriers, Meyers, etc. And if you can't beat your rivals, who cares about the rest?

And can we stop calling it an "SEC Eastern Division Championship"? Do you know how silly that sounds? He didn't win a "championship", he finished first in his division. They don't make trophies for that, do they?

Will you be at the Kentucky game?

Phil's success as an interim coach hastened his demise. Backstabbing makes it sound like some dishonest backroom low life move CPF made. The only thing CPF did was win. There is a BIG difference Jackson.

Hmmmm...If Fulmer was coaching this team (with his staff), this year. The would be 6-2 at minimum 5-3. Anybody want to challenge that? BTW, he might have been 7-1, cause I just bet he would have beat Muschamp too.

Oh really. What would you like to call the last 3 seasons. Now that is silly.
