I have no idea...but U of Texas sho would be a good place for "Huey Lewis standing on a milk crate" Saban to retire...unlimited funds, plenty of homeboy recruits, TV network, Austin is a great city.....hmmmmmmm

SBV said the job had to be open 10 days or so before we can hire a new coach.... Kiffin left on 12...Dooley hired on the 15th

If what SBV said is right...my real question is how did we do that?

Sorry Coasty. I am not Jay, but Dooley was not under contract for 3 months after he started working.

All that they had in place was an MOU. My understanding is that they took care of all of the posting requirements between his announcement and when he actually got a signed contract.

During that time he was essentially a temp employee by human resources standards, or an independent contractor.
