I didn't see the full thing. Did this Auburn player get paid cash or not?

This could get ugly for them real quick.

I don't disagree - but maybe it should get ugly, not only for them, but all of college athletics.

I'm neither advocating the payment of players, nor attempting to allege that they don't benefit - often significantly - from being a student-athlete. Instead, I believe that a weighing of the respective benefits warrants a closer degree of scrutiny, and an honest discussion in a wide-ranging forum that both solicits and welcomes the various perspectives and opinions from all sides.

In fact, it's likely long overdue.

I think part of the problem with credibility will be that the player was paid cash - by HBO.

EDIT: I was referring to McGlover. Not sure if Reddick was paid by HBO or not.

The fact that Swimmers, women's sports participants, rowers, golfers, hurdlers, and every other money losing sport will also need to be compensated will prevent it from happening.
