’14 GA ATH Elliott Berry (UT Signee 2/5/14)

I think it's really weird that they aren't taking many (any?) real visits, and everybody assumes they're UT locks, but they won't even name us the leader. Is that normal?

If the Berry's name UT leader...its a wrap and they know it....look at Bates...once he named us leader...it was over...I kinda think they want to make some excitement out of it, even though there might not be any doubt...JMO

All I know is that they appear to be excellent player with a UT pedigree. If they don't want to be here then I wish them the best. However I would love to have them here. I consider their brother the last legendary player from UT. They have the opportunity to be the boat anchors for this recruiting class that say ,"we know the history of the last few years and we know where the program is really going". By going somewhere else, they are sending a signal.

I'm not gonna lie I'm a little worried here. Yal are correct there not to the level of Eric, and that will be alot pressure on them. However lets not discount them either they both are legit 4 stars. Plus they have the intangibles that's not coachible such as work ethic and leadership. I feel like we're in on enough players that if they go elsewhere it won't hurt our class. However I think there important in other ways, they mean alot to UT fans. If they don't come here there will be media people and fans who will knock butch saying he couldn't lock them up. I will be disappointed if there not vols. but still optimistic about our future

I hope they do. Do they have twitter? If so maybe Vic, TK jr, and Hurd can start recruiting them more. I understand if they don't come but it would be a plus even if we don't necessarily need them in this class but we would benefit.

Wasn't Eric's recruitment pretty much the same way? I know it was somewhat quiet and he announced later in the recruiting cycle.

Anchor down!

People need to quit stargazing. These dudes are a must.

I don't understand why anyone would question if we want or need the Berry twins, it's a no-brainer. Both these guys are a must and I believe they will both be excellent players for the Vols. We need them to help build this program as players and individuals.

Most of you guys have not seen these guys play, no maybe they are not as good as their older brother, but who is? They are on a team that is not that good and do everything for their team and very rarely leave the field. Once they settle in on one position they will be great like their older brother!

This. IIRC Rivals had Eric as a CB, after all he had ELITE CB measurables. But dude was born to play safety. Who's to say these guys are being used correctly or projected correctly.

Example: Vereen....3* LB per rivals? Or 4-5* DE? I'm gonna go with choice # 2.

Its also hard to project what position a player may grow into a year or 2 down the road. But they both have the one thing u can not teach .Speed and lots of it.

Agree. And after reading my last post IMO it sounded a bit like a slam on Rivals, etc. that wasn't my plan. But it is hard to project at times. I'll say this...CBJ saw a LT in Eric Fisher when others saw TE. He saw a DE in Vereen when many if not most (including me) saw a decent LB. and I don't think Vereen is gonna be an edge rush specialist. Dudes already 250lbs, I think he's gonna be an all around solid DE. I say get these guys here and let the coaches do whatever the hell they want with them. Their track record of evaluation/projections is starting to speak for itself.
