Just the idea of the names Bates, Berry, and Kelly being on the same defensive roster. Possibility of Wharton and Creamer as well...:rock:

Here is why the 'stars' don't matter to me. They have a currently elite player at the highest level training them mentally and physically to get there with him. I believe both Berry's will be wearing orange come NSD.

I agree. Was just tossing out a Manning/Cobb combo option to get the names on the field.

It is kind of surprising to me that Manning does not even have small school offers having rushed for 1700 yards last year.

Wonder if it is camp related. That and who offers seem to carry the most weight with these recruiting services.

Just playing devil's advocate but do we know how good the Berry's really are? Just because the lineage is Eric (one of the best) guarantees nothing. I'm not saying they aren't takes but if came down to either getting the Berrys or landing say two other highly rated guys do we take the Berrys?

I know he would talk up his brothers anyway, but I remember once he said that both his little brothers were alot better athletes than he was. If they are even close to be as good as Eric, they are studs with tons of potential! They train with big bro, as well. Dad was awesome too! He's not shooting blanks, just producing st8 All-Americans! :rock:

Top 10 in track for the state, SEC size, play 7 positions between the two, multiple SEC offers. There's not really much more evidence you can ask for beyond that. If they cared about what recruiting services felt and camped a little, they'd both be 4* and no one would question their ability.

The twins are #1 and #2 must gets left on the board IMO. Yes, I know we need DL, OL, LB more than anything right now. Still 10 spots to go besides the Berry Bros. We will fill our major needs by NSD.

How do you know how good any of these HS kids are? Plenty of highly rated kids flame out. All the hand wringing over these kids cracks me up. Most every argument uses the star rating from the same sites that a large part of this forum openly mocks. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. CBJ has had a pretty good start. He's going to pick kids that fit what he wants to do. Hope they are a part of it. It won't kill us if they are or aren't.

The Berry twins' offer list is legit. The offers are committable.

There is no buzz surrounding the Berry's recruitment because rival teams, coaches, and recruiting sites already know that the twins are Vols. And have been for a while.

You could've said the same about TK2 but people kept recruiting him. Saban is still calling Hurd and he's already a verbal.

Could be as I am not sure what the number we will actually take is. We ended up short last year. Hope we can fill it up this class. I think we would have to miss on a lot of guys before Dews can sign a LOI for the 2014 class. JMO

Most know very little about their recruiting because they like to keep to themselves for the most part. I would expect since these coaches want them at their school, they highly respect that decision and don't blab about them to the recruiting sites either. If you wanna guess or speculate that some of their offers are non-commitable, that's fine, but that's all you're doing is guessing.
