Now everyone hates us because we are the champs…have a new stadium coming…a dynamic coach…and it doesn’t look like it will slow down anytime soon. They are chasing us.

I know two parents in Texas with sons that are D1 prospects. One kid at Ole Miss and one at Weathetford (Cal Stark, anyone?). Both told me without me asking: “All the kids want to play at Tennessee.”

I suspect that our fan base as a whole gets a lot more pleasant after we’ve won a championship. Some people only know how to gloat, but others like me become a lot friendlier when we don’t have anything to be bitter over.
