07 NFL schedule to be released in minutes....

The Titans play the Saints this season... I could see that being a primetime game somewhere in the season given the Bush vs. Young dynamic.

If they both finished in the same position in their respective divisions they will, yes.

bengals.com has them as a home game

Vince Young vs. Carson Palmer

Vince is the fastest QB
Carson throws the best ball
that would be a good game

Unfortunately, Vince has no one to help him out anymore. I think the Bengals would run away with that one.

I don't know about that. If the Titans get Turner he is an upgrade over Henry. What else did Vince lose?....Wade and Bennett? Both nice roleplayers but if Jones continues to develop and if Williams can step up a bit they are not that bad off. I am not delusional and realize the Titans have a lot of holes but they will be a pretty decent team led by a VY with a year under his belt. Defense is a different story though so who knows.

You cannot say a guy that has never been a starter is an upgrade over a 2 time pro-bowler. Bobby Wade was probably their best receiver. Pac-Man will likely be suspended for awhile. Tight end is the only position where I think the Titans are really set.

VY isn't faster than Vick...

Maybe we'll see how Turner is as a feature back, but I'd still rather roll with a proven commodity like Henry.

ESPN2 listed the schedule release to come on at 8:30CST after some college hockey, dunno if it actually came on though. I saw the poker on in place of the ESPN timeslot and watched it for awhile..

The Titans won't get Turner, they've chose LenDale and they have to live with it. It doesn't matter how good Vince is because we have no defense to stop the opponets. The Titans could have really improved during the offseason, but I think they took a big step backwards. I understand they wanted to be patient and not use up all of their money, but we got rid of most of the weapons Vince had last season so there's no evidence that they will improve from last season's record.

I will give you that it is premature to call Turner an upgrade but I think he will be the better back. Givens SHOULD be better than Wade although Givens hasn't shown much as a Titan and again, defense has some big holes but at least Harper is decent. I don't expect a playoff run this year but I also think the Titans will be a better team than a lot of fans think.

Maybe. The thing is, they had a chance to step up and be playoff contenders. They didn't do it. It seems like the Titans are OK with losing. I don't think they'll be doing too much winning.

Excactly. They had a great chance to make a great run deep into the playoffs. Now, they have alot more problems and question marks than they did last year. All we needed to do was keep the offense in order and improve the defense, but now we have let go of most of our weapons on offense from last year.

I was just as upset as anyone when they didn't bring in any big names but I understand why they didn't want to grossly overpay for mediocre players in a thin market. They tried to get Stallworth, in fact they offered more money than NE. Clements demanded way too much money so I can't fault them for letting him get away. I didn't like losing Henry but if they get Turner that is not so bad. The worst move they made IMO was not keeping Wade, as I think he was well worth what he was signed for but again, losing him is not going to break the team. I understand all of the frustration but to say they are OK with losing is ridiculous. I don't think they are OK with losing I just think they are OK with not breaking the bank on a couple of players to avoid salary cap hell again.

With all due respect to Wade and Bennett they are nothing special. Jones and Givens should be a much better tandem than the two of those. Henry is a different story but let's at least wait and see who is on the roster in September before we start all of the doom and gloom talk.

Anyone that thinks the Titans were poised for a deep playoff run this year is highly delusional. Vince Young is highly overrated, and the Titans were not going to make the playoffs this year with or without the players that they lost. Going after high dollar free agents would have made little sense for the Titans because they are years away from being a serious contender.

Vince Young is not ove . He may not be the most accurate passer in the world at this point but he finds a way to win games. He did more than anyone could ask for from a rookie with no real weapons around him outside of Henry. Stats don't tell the whole story when it comes to a guy like VY. I was very skeptical when they drafted him but after seeing what he did as a green pea I am sold.

Saying that he isn't the most accurate passer is putting it mildly. We'll see how sold on him you are after the next two to three years. He is by far the worst of the top three quarterbacks taken in last year's draft, and he will never amount to anything more than an average to slightly below average quarterback. If you're a fan of Phil Fulmer, then I'm sure you'll be more than happy to hold on to Vince Young for the next 12 years.

Phil Fulmer is really relevant to the discussion. It's really early to say that Jay Cutler and Matt Leinart are better than Vince Young. In their only head-to-head matchup (which was in college, so it's not super indicative) Young was more impressive. Leinart has lots of offensive weapsons, but he still didn't win many games. Cutler didn't do much of anything excepts complete a few passes to his tight end. At this point, Young has done far more than either of the other QBs. He may end up not being as good, but to say that right now is pretty far-fetched.

This time last year VY was a bust, now he's just overrated. He's making strides at least.

Anyway, not to get away from Vol423's VY bashing, did the freakin' schedule ever get released? Link us up, CBC. Geezus.
