09 CB Nick Branum decided to walk on

They show me he's walking on at UT. No kid that runs a legit 4.37 is walking on anywhere. World class speed=scholarship.

Just because you have straight line speed in shorts, doesn't mean that you can play CB in the SEC. Your 40 time can't cover a receiver either.

So, you're going to convince me that an 18 year old kid is faster than all but 3 of the prospects that ran at the NFL combine this year and doesn't get offered a scholarship by anyone?

I'm not doubting that he was timed at 4.37. I'm just saying the timing was at a minimum .2 off.

Dude everybody puts they're best 40 out there. Not what they consistently run. That's just how it goes. But why are you comparing this guy to NFL guys?

I don't know of one prospect off the top of my head whose 40 time was probably accurate coming into college. Also, it's a bout football speed not straight line speed, and 40 times are overrated. The NFL guys are electronically timed as well and college prospects are typically hand timed and wind aided.

This is what I'm saying. 40 times coming out of high school are nowhere near accurate. This one is way overblown.

I'm sorry but that just cracks me up! I know I'm immature but it just struck me funny for some reason.

He runs track and his fastest 100m is 11.10. Not sure how that translates but most likely hes in the 4.4s rather than 4.3s. Not he could have a super burst but not have the distance speed, who knows.

I'm not exactly sure how it translates either, but Zach Rogers 100m time was 10.8 and his forty time is listed as 4.47. Maybe that will give us a some idea. He is probably a 4.5 guy based on that.

I would say I would agrre with Eric on the 4.37 forty being "wind aided".:eek:lol:

So, why didn't you just say that instead of acting like you knew the kid?? :)

I don't know him, but I know he doesn't run a 4.37.

I'm pretty sure that implies that I don't know anything about the kid. I wish him luck though. I hope he's the local kid who earns himself a scholarship. I hope Mr. Tait follows him as well.

i can tell you about him as a person. hes very cocky. and thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread. that could just be senior complex though
