DE Derrick Lott (6-5 270) of Kennesaw, GA attended USC's camp last Friday, his second camp of the summer in Columbia. "It was nice, I loved it, we had fun," Lott said. "I did one on ones the whole day. I talked to coach Lawing and coach Beamer. South Carolina is my leader. I've been to camps and stuff and they are showing me the most love." Lott also has offers from Louisville, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Central Florida and Ole MIss. He's also getting interest from Florida State and Georgia. Lott camped at Georgia and has visited Louisville and Tennessee. He plans to take his official visits before deciding and three will be USC, Oklahoma State and Louisville. Last season Lott had 70 tackles with 10 for loss and five sacks playing defensive tackle.

"South Carolina, UGA and Michigan State are the main ones," Lott said. "There are a few others, but those are main ones."

I like how tall he is. Probably redshirt his first year no matter where he goes. Would like for him to be 25 pounds heavier which he could gain in a year.

Tee Martin coaches/teaches at his HS.

Wish Tee Martin could sway this kid over to us.
It seems like USCe is pulling a lot of great talent right now. Chavis needs to be fired for just not being a recruiter.

From the FSU site. Loot holds offers from Louisville, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and Michigan State and is hearing from Florida, FSU, LSU, Arkansas, Clemson and Georgia Tech. He has always wanted to go to school in Florida, and says that he loved his visit to FSU. The Noles told him he needs to get his grades in order before getting an offer.

North Cobb defensive tackle Derrick Lott said he feels good about his chances of earning an offer from Georgia.

The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Lott said he was told by Georgia coach Mark Richt that the Bulldogs would offer if he improved his grades enough to meet college entrance requirements. Lott won over the Bulldogs with his performance at last summer’s prospect camp.

“I’ve got two As and two Bs right now, so I’m feeling pretty good about the situation,” Lott said.

“Georgia would be a pretty big offer. My head coach said he has been coaching for 15 years, and never had one of his players offered by Georgia. So it would be a big deal for me, my head coach and my family.”

Lott has offers from South Carolina, Louisville, Michigan State, Central Florida, and Ole Miss.

“I made it my final choice,” Lott said of his commitment to Georgia. “It was the offer that I wanted, and I committed.”
Lott’s commitment comes in a rather slow recruiting time for the Bulldogs. Arthur Fontaine, the last player the Bulldogs pull in, committed to them in August. Rontavious Wooten, who seemed like a very likely commit, decided to go with LSU instead at the end of August. Lott was a player the Dawgs have been keeping their eye on for some time, and after his grades improved the program decided to offer.
“I am real excited about it. This is the offer that I was waiting for,” Lott said. “Georgia is a great school and I really felt at home.”
Lott said that he’s been to Athens five or six times and that he will likely visit this weekend for the Dawgs matchup with Tennessee.
“The atmosphere was great,” said the North Cobb star of his trips between the hedges. “I have been up about five or six times, and it felt great to finally get the offer. My parents wanted me to go to Georgia.”
Lott indicated that he will play defensive tackle for the Bulldogs.
“I am excited about Coach G,” Lott said. “He's a really cool guy - I think he's great.”
