Ohio lineman says he has two favorites
Offensive lineman Chris Freeman (Trotwood, Ohio/Madison) says he has scheduled his first official visit. Freeman plans to visit Wisconsin the weekend of Jan. 23. He also wants to visit Tennessee.

The 6-9, 320-pound Freeman also mentions Missouri, UCLA and Colorado.
"I know I want to go to Wisconsin, Missouri and Tennessee," Freeman said. "I'd like to get at least three visits in, but I don't know for sure. My favorite would be between Wisconsin and Tennessee."

Freeman played basketball for Madison when he was a junior, but decided against playing the sport this season. When Freeman discovered he missed playing hoops, he recently asked Madison basketball coach Mark Baker if he could join the team. The answer was yes, so now Freeman must work his football visits around basketball.

Look at this guy's offers. He might have some real potential, and it sounds like we're one of his favorites.

old article, but interesting...

With less than two months before Signing Day, it appears the Badgers stand in good position to land one of the biggest uncommitted prospects in the Midwest.

The following is a question with Chris Freeman, a 6-foot-7, 325-pound offensive tackle from Trotwood (Ohio) Trotwood-Madison.

It's been awhile since we've caught up with you. Could you give us some insight on your current recruitment?

Freeman did not begin playing football until his junior year of high school.Freeman: It's pretty much the same right now. I'm actually getting ready to take some of my official visits. I'm really just waiting on that right now.

Do you know where you will be visiting?

Freeman: I know I'll be visiting Wisconsin and Tennessee for sure. I'll probably be taking one or two more after those visits, most likely Michigan.

As you know, I'm calling in regards to the University of Wisconsin. Who is your recruiting coach for the Badgers?

Freeman: Coach (Joe) Rudolph.

How is your relationship with him?

Freeman: Oh man, it's great. As a matter of a fact he came to my house a couple days ago. It was good to sit down and talk to him about everything. Also, a few of my good friends are going to Wisconsin. Jeff Duckworth and Brian Wozniak have been telling me great things about Wisconsin. Coach Rudolph is a real great guy and we've been in touch a lot on the phone.

I've heard in the past you played on the same AAU team as Duckworth and Wozniak. How is your friendship with those guys?

Freeman: I've known those guys since I was in the seventh grade. We have a great relationship. I've spent the last four summers of my life with those guys just playing basketball. As a matter of fact, if I go to Wisconsin, Jeff will be my roommate. So that's going to be really cool.

Have you taken any unofficial visits to Madison?

Freeman: Yeah, I went up there this summer with Jeff, Brian, Chris Borland and one of my high school teammates, Tony Graham. We all went up there and it was a really fun trip. Even though I've been up there I still want to take my official visit to Madison. It's funny because when I was up there I lost my phone. I was pretty mad about that (laughter). Other than that wrecking my day, I had a great time.

Does it make you feel more comfortable to know that guys like Duckworth, Wozniak and Borland will be up here? All of those guys are obviously from Ohio as well.

Freeman: Yeah, and (I heard) Pat Muldoon committed today. Coach Rudolph has been doing a great job down here in Ohio; he's locking up Ohio. It shows he knows what he is doing and how great of a job he's done building relationships with all the players.

List narrowed to 3... Wisconsin, Colorado and Tennessee. He states that all 3 are even and he is just looking forward to the visits.

He reminds me of Micheal Oher kinda. I'd love to get him, but I think it's hard to pull him away from Wisky. Who would want to live there though? Is there anything besides cheese and snow?

Probably because he's only played ball 2 years and doesn't have anything besides athleticism going for him right now.

No that cant be it, Sam Montgomery has only played 2 years and he is a four star. I would guess its exposure.

exsposure and there's only a handful of 4 and 5 star players...plus I'm guessing he hasn't been coached well on footwork and things of that nature...but with him being a bball player I'm guessing it wont take long for Cregg and Chaney to fix that...I'd like to have this monster blocking for us next year.
