DE Duane Chisolm (6-4 245) of Beaufort will be checking out three schools in the coming weeks. Saturday he's going to Tennessee for both a track meet and a football visit. On April 26th, he will visit Clemson. And he plans to get in a visit to USC. Chisolm talked to Gamecock recruiter Shane Beamer Wednesday night. "We talked a little bit more about the program and how I'm doing in school and in track," Chisolm said. "He said he'll be coming down for my spring practice." Chisolm said his favorite four right now are USC, Clemson, Tennesee and Alabama. "I'm looking for a good football atmosphere, a program where I'm comfortable, and where I can get a good business degree," he said. Chisolm also has offers from Kentucky, NC State, Maryland and West Virginia. He's also getting interest from North Carolina, Michigan, Wake Forest, Duke and Stanford. Another prospect to watch at Beaufort is DB Jimmy Legree (6-1 175).

Chisolm is a ESPN 150 watch player and we are in his Top 5. Looks like a beast but will be hard to pry him from Clemson. Here is ESPN's evaluation of him:

"Chisholm may not have a name that is easy to pronounce at first glance, but it does not take long to figure out that this kid can be a disruptive defender. He has good size and moves around between end and tackle at the high school level. His ability and size will likely see him do the same at the college level. While not always consistent yet, he displays good quickness off the ball. His ability to be explosive allows him to get penetration. Often times he looks like a bull let loose from a rodeo pin when he comes off the ball. He is violent and wild and is able to power his way into the backfield. At times his methods are not very pretty and he bullies his way into spots, but he also displays the ability to use and be active with his hands. He does a solid job of being able to engage and hold his ground when taking on a blocker. He has good lateral quickness and can come across the ball and get flat. He displays good overall athleticism to be able to navigate through traffic. He needs to watch his pad level. He has solid speed, but a high motor. He is a solid and physical tackler though a little wild at times. He will flash some prowess off the edge as a pass rusher. He can quickly get up-field, use his hands, and turn the corner. He has the size to get into a blocker and bull rush. Because of his quickness and thick frame he can provide some spark as an interior rusher. Chisholm is a good player that really seems to get after it. He needs to keep fine tuning his game, but has the tools to be a productive and disruptive defender at the college level."

DE Duane Chisolm (6-4 245) of Beaufort said Tuesday night USC, Clemson and Florida State are the three schools he's thinking about the most right now. He does not have an offer from FSU at this point. He does have offers from the Gamecocks, Tigers, Kentucky, Tennessee, NC State, Alabama, Maryland, West Virginia, Georgia and Auburn. Chisolm said he hears a lot from USC and Clemson but all the schools are recruiting him about the same. He visited USC, Clemson and Tennessee earlier this summer, and he might visit Georgia soon. Chisolm said USC will be one of his official visits this fall. He's not sure of the others. He does not have a favorite.

Another of the state's top football prospects has gone down with a season ending injury. Beaufort coach MarK Clifford said Friday night his standout DE Duane Chisolm (6-4 245) suffered a torn ACL in his right knee last Friday night and will miss the rest of the season. Chisolm will have surgery October 26th and will need up to six months to rehab according to Clifford. Chisolm has been looking at USC, Clemson, Georgia, Alabama and Florida State for his official visits. He joins other top in-state prospects DE Chris Bonds of Richland Northeast and DB Chris Payne and DB Damario Jeffery of Columbia High out with season ending injuries.

He doesn't have the grades to get into Clemson and probably won't make it into USC either. He is a USC lean anyway but doesn't have the grades.
