If I read the article correctly Jones had a 1.4 million contract buy out at UC. Did he pay that or UT?
It could be 18 mill plus 5 mill for Dools plus 1.4 mill buy out plus Sal and others payout. Wow.

Sucks. But I guess that is what it takes to have a football program.

Just what in Jones ridiculous contract do you see as a football program? Mediocre coach with huge buyout. Way to go Hart.

Was really disappointed when I heard we hired him because I wanted Gruden or Strong. After looking at his record coaching I was impressed and think he may be good but is not really proven like some others besides strong. I also wonder why in the hell they give a 6 year deal to coach that has not proved he can beat the big boys on a consistently week after week.

What is ridiculous about his contract? He is not getting paid well at all. If winning 65% of your games is mediocre and take away his first season at cincy where he was 4-8 where Kelly left him zero talent his % is 71%. If that is mediocre then damn i hate to see what your version of great is. Does your mom or warden know you snuck out to play online with adults? Back to the basement or lock up you go son.

Hmmm,,,and I thought when I left for a job at PEP Boys and had a 85.00 dollar buyout from Jiffy Lube it was rough.

Is that really what your hoping and pulling for? I swear I thought bammers were bad but some of these unfaithful, idiotic Vol so called fans are an embarrassment. Its been said before, if you dont like the hire or wont support it then please go pull for somebody else. UT,the players, Coach Jones, the rest of his staff and us real Vol Fans deserve better and the act is getting old. You had a day to vent and go off yourselves yesterday, its time to support the players most importantly or get the hell on nobody wants to hear it anyone.

Same can be said for strong. He finally had a good year in a depleted big east. Got curb stomped by Syracuse so hard they lost to uconn the next week. And who has Louisville beaten in his time there? I think Butch is the better of the two coaches, when comparing apples to apples. I know, I know, the coat tail argument.. still think he's better than strong.

Admit that I wanted Strong if not Gruden. That being said... I did not know till yesterday Butch had a 2-1 record vs Strong.

It`s basically the norm now. Whoever Tennessee was going to hire would get a huge buyout. It`s just part of it now. The millions is not coming out of your pocket so chill out.

Well what I mean is as a business person I would have suggested that the buyout be spread over the six years and deducted each year from his 3 million per year salary. Just my thought process.
