If you had to win one game, what current college football coach would be your coach??? Some suggestions: Carr, Fulmer, Tressel, Schiano, Spurrier, Myer etc? I love the Vols but I cant honestly say I would pick Fulmer. I would pick either Tressel or Spurrier

Depends on the Game and the situation.

Depends on the opponent and the make-up of the team I would be picking the coach for.

In order:
1. Tressel
2. Carroll
3. Stoops
4. Spurrier
After those four, it's pretty much a jumble.

I know you're new, but :BANGHEAD2:

And after a win?!

Yeah well, this from a guy "embarrased" by the Vols, who at 7-6 Vandy today was saying what a defensive joke we were (we held them to just over 200 total yards by the end of the game however), he also made a remark about finding out how good the spread option would be in Gainesville next year.

Honestly though, I don't take this as a shot against Fulmer, and you know me, I smell those things a mile away.

I am not trying to start an argument , nor am I as new as the # of posts suggest. I think honesty is allowed and a win over Vandy does not hender me from asking a question. If you feel Fulmer is your choice, say so.

I gave my answer.

It depends on the situation.

That should be good enough.

I'm sure that most people thought I would pick Fulmer right off the bat.

Werent you the one who was part of controversy with other members during the game - see in game board??? Just checking. Again, others beside yourself are allowed to ask questions or make statements. I, like you, am allowed my opion. My question had nothing to do with Tenn, but rather College Coaches.

Vince Lombardi if he was alive and you included NFL coaches.

Of current college head coaches, either Stoops or Pete Carroll.

By the way, just seeing if you would get fired up O^2. Situation would be one such as the Mich vs OSU game

Can you read? I said I didn't think you were taking a shot against Fulmer. I was actually taking UP for you and the assumption that it appeared Milo was making.

You can say whatever the hell you want, and I never said you couldn't.

Read AND comprehend before replying.

1. Spurrier
2. Stoops
3. Tuberville

* Saban would be on the list if he were still in the NCAA

K, I was about to say.....

Some people here are uber-sensitive, it was begining to look like you were.

Well, obviously if I had Ohio St, I would have Tressel. He knows that team, and it has been assembled by him.

If I were choosing for Michigan's current team, I would stick with Fulmer. With the linemen and fullback play, along with a healthy RB in Hart and big time WR, I think he could get more out of those players than Carr.

Sorry O^2, I just wanted to see if I could get you fired up, which it seems is not difficult - good attitude.

So you would pcik Fulmer against Tressel? Not sure I can agree.

Yeah, I'm not easy to get excited, but hey, it makes for exciting reading from time to time.

Ummm, to be honest, if I were picking a coach for Michigan to go AGAINST Tressel, I would probably go with Stoops from Oklahoma. Power running game, good talented skill players, and Stoops imagination would come in handy against a good game coach as prepared as Tressel.

After seeing the OSU V MICH game, I gotta take Tressel.
Spurrier would be high on that list as well.

Those that are listing Spurrier and Tubberville, I don't agree with.

Neither has coached in a game as big as the BCS National Championship game. To me, the expierence of coaching in that game is huge. I would only select from the coaches that have coached in one of those games. Obviously throwing Coker out as a possibility, as well as Saban who is gone. That leaves who....

Fulmer, Bowden, Beamer, Stoops, Tressel, Brown, Carroll.

I think that's it if you remove those other two. Anyone know is there is anyone else?

I have trouble believing Frank Solich is a more qualified coach than Steve Spurrier because he coached in the BCS Championship Game after the 2001 season. The Sugar Bowl after the '96 season was for the National Title. I see no difference between that game and the BCS game.

The Game of College Football has changed drastically since 96.

Course, that being said, it's changed a lot since 98 too in my opinion, so the more I think the more Phil would probably slip if I were going to rank those guys as a group.

Spurrier would be my pick. I definitely would not pick Les Miles............that man has the most talented team in the SEC, and didn't do anything with them this year. Tressel is definitely high on my list.
